Watch this be super successful, and then the general public wonder why it wasn’t done sooner.
London’s iconic Oxford Street will be pedestrianised between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street from today onwards. (bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmzx…)

TRANSLATION: First Round Abstentions: 33.5 million (21%) Blank votes: 2.3 million (2%) Invalid votes: 3.7 million (3%) Voter turnout: 125.3 million (79%) Other candidates: 9.5 million (8%) Second Round Abstentions: 30.4 million (21%) Blank votes: 1.4 million (1%) Invalid votes: 2.7 million (2%) Voter turnout: 128.1 million (81%) Lula: 64.1 million (51.8%) Flávio: 59.7 million (48.2%) Between abstentions, blank votes, and invalid votes, they somehow found 5 million additional votes. Add that to the 9.5 million votes cast for other candidates in the first round, and you have a pool of approximately 14 million new votes. Flávio gained 4 million votes, going from 56 million to 60 million. Lula gained 10 million votes, going from 54 million to 64 million. All figures are rounded. Of this pool of 14 million votes, Flávio received 29%, while Lula received 71%. And this happened despite the fact that 10 million of those 14 million votes came from voters who had supported other candidates with more right-leaning political profiles. The whole thing is so extraordinary that it is extremely difficult to believe. It’s as if, in just three weeks, voters who had signaled a turn to the right suddenly made a sharp turn to the left. It’s hard not to think about those two extra hours.

Raging stupid American blue ticks 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope Lula understands that by moving the times the polls closed after the fact, there is going to be a raging storm of election integrity concern and it will be valid.

It is disgraceful that Andy Burnham took an hour out to appear on Gogglebox just to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer. If he's going to do a TV show he should do what I did and pocket £1.5million for eating some kangaroo bollocks.

Swap Lula for Burnham and 2022 for 24 and I'm tentative to say, whatever happens in the next few years, we'll be making the same observation here in 28/29. xitter.cf/OwenWntr/status/211452…

To understand how Lula supporters are feeling right now, imagine Trump went to jail for his Jan 6 insurrection and then Biden/Harris defeated Don Jr in 2024.

Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on his electoral victory. Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil. Europe’s partnership with Brazil is thriving. We will remain by your side for the years to come. Together we will keep working closely for free and open trade. A rules-based global order. And strong ambitions for our climate.

Imagina que tem dois times de futebol: o Time A e o Time B. No primeiro jogo, o Time A fez 54 gols e o Time B fez 56. Outros times pequenos fizeram 9 gols juntos.

Congratulations, President @LulaOficial, on your re-election in Brazil. The relationship between Canada and Brazil has flourished under our partnership. Let’s seize this opportunity to make it even stronger, together — to create major new trade opportunities, protect the environment, and build greater prosperity for both our peoples.

No evidence the 2026 Brazilian runoff was rigged. Voting was extended 2 hours by STF Justice Zanin after both campaigns requested it (Lula over bus shortages in Bahia/São Paulo areas; Flávio over rain in the south). It applied only to still-open stations and caused confusion. Lula won ~51.8%-48.2% (margin over 4 million votes). TSE said the extension did not change the outcome. Flávio is challenging legally. Extra votes from the limited extension are unlikely to have flipped the result.
