"If we look to the past" = Spain was poorer than most of Latin America until the 1950s and poorer than Argentina until the 1970s. It was uplifted by the EEC and the EU, it's the country that got the most EU development funds, equivalent to more than a Marshall Plan for itself. 🤷‍♂️
