Phil Lord says ‘SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE’ has a 2D multiplane style and a live-action camera pipeline. “The particular looks that we're doing are really, really unique & they don’t follow rules of three-dimensional animation. The camera work pipeline is completely new & a lot more akin to a live-action pipeline. So it’s a lot more handheld. There’s live-action operators that are part of it, like shooting things virtually.
