Research on #neckpain since the 1990s found little to no relationship btwn neck #posture & neck pain. Get a 2nd or 3rd opinion if a clinician blames your posture to be the cause of your pain. #textneck #forwardheadposture #physicaltherapy #massagetherapy massagefitnessmag.com/massag…

More than six years later, the problem only deepened in the U.S. Despite all the research that says otherwise, the system—including many individual clinicians—very little has changed. What can be done? #BillionDollarQuestion
#healthcare has created a.. a complex system who believes the patient is simple.. WE NEED a simple system believing in a complex person..

I do, too.
I’d love to see a healthcare conference panel of BIPOC women that wasn’t about diversity, equity, etc. We are actually knowledgeable and have expertise and experience with other topics, too.

It takes *17 yrs* for research to change practice. But pain medicine doesn't even keep up with THAT 😶👎🏼 Since 1965, we've known that pain is emotional, social + environmental - NOT just physical. SIXTY yrs later, we still treat pain with 💊💉🔪 CATCH👏🏼 The F UP👏🏼 #MedTwitter

A simplified version of what #centralsensitization is & how it works. Basically CS amplifies signals from stimuli that likely cause pain or major discomfort that normally wouldn't do so for an average population. #massagetherapy #physicaltherapy #pain massagefitnessmag.com/massag…

Used a public all-gender bathroom this week. Was washing my hands next to a man. Interestingly, wanna know what my thoughts were? It wasn’t- oh wow there’s a man here. It was - oh thank goodness they’re washing their hands. Cuz way too many humans of all genders skip that and 🤢

A little help goes a long way. A $10, $20, or more can help @SanDiegoSummit stay afloat while keeping their high-quality content for healthcare providers who work w/ patients in pain. #sdpain24

My favorite comment about how we got to this student debt crisis: “you should have calculated the ROI with expected debt, salary, and cost of living.” I did and acknowledged it. Then the average mortgage shot up from $1000 to $2300 within a year after graduation. 🤷🏼‍♂️😵‍💫

Nerves aren’t the only ones that play a role in sensing touch & #pain. Pressure on skin makes #keratinocytes release ATP, which binds to nerve receptors called P2X4, which sends information to the spinal cord & brain. #massagetherapy #physicaltherapy massagefitnessmag.com/massag…

A public safety message the diaphragm is solely innervated by the phrenic nerve normally C, 3,4,5 and the little rhyme for cervical trauma 3,4,5 stay alive, applies. The Psoas muscle can not and has never innervated anything. It gets it’s innervation from L,1-3 end of story.

Yes. Apparently that surgeon has an efficient business model, but not an efficient practice model. There’s a difference. I value working with all my physician colleagues who are teammates and we can rely on each other for who we are and what we bring to the team for our patients.

Health care & insurance in the US sucks big time. My wife got a large bill for a test she had to have after her covered annual physical, due to suspicious cells? We have a large deductible. Her comment “It’s literally cheaper to die than get treatment for a serious illness”
