The ultimate form of preparation is not planning for a specific scenario, but a mindset that can handle uncertainty.

Memorization has an unfairly negative reputation. I recently spent a few hours memorizing the names of all the countries in the world and it's such a clear improvement in how well I can understand and reason about other topics. Memorization is scaffolding for more complex ideas
a short history of software replacing lawyers:
1973: lexis puts case law on a computer, and the 70s become the fastest decade of lawyer growth on record.
2011: headlines say e-discovery will replace armies of lawyers, and the US goes from 1.2 million of them to 1.37 million.
2025: donotpay, the "world's first robot lawyer," settles with the FTC, whose complaint says it never had lawyers test its work.
2026: AI can draft the contract, check the cites and scan every new rule in every state.
if the last 50 years are any guide, a lot of what it makes cheap was never getting done in the first place.

Humanity is destined for something far greater than spending most of our lives working just to pay the bills.
We weren't meant to spend our existence merely surviving.
We are a civilization capable of understanding the universe, conquering disease, reaching the stars, and creating unimaginable abundance.
We're still in our infancy. We're barely beginning our journey.

this whole story sounds made up lol
i just learned that AI is creating a lab monkey crisis.
in 2019, a lab monkey cost $3,000. now they're $20,000+ each, and it’s about to get way worse.
that's because AI can now design endless new drugs to cure diseases in humans.
but a lot of these new drugs need to be tested on monkeys first before they can go into a human, because they're one of our closest living relatives.
so the more drugs AI designs, the more monkeys we need to test them.
but we were *already* running out of monkeys before AI showed up.
it started in 2020 when China (who supplied 60% of America's lab monkeys) banned exports.
so labs switched to Cambodia, until the US found out in 2022 that monkeys there were illegally being caught in the wild and sold as farm-raised
so American labs stopped buying
the obvious fix would be to just breed more monkeys
but a female monkey only starts having babies around age 4, and after that she only has one baby a year.
so supply simply can’t keep up.
even China, which kept all its monkeys for itself, is now sold out at about $26,000 a monkey (roughly 12x the 2019 price)
this is why this startup (Safer Human Medicine) wants to build a 30,000-monkey farm in the US
the plan is to start with 500-1,000 macaques (the main monkey used in drug testing) from farms in Asia, then breed them up to 30,000 over about 20 years.
so eventually, American labs can finally stop relying on the (increasingly expensive!) 20,000 monkeys imported every year.

Replying to @0xRemakw
Maybe some - but the guys using AI to replace lawyers weren’t using lawyers in the first place (or did, but rarely).

Still blows my mind someone at Google would of came up with the idea of Google Maps / Google Earth
Then suggested that they drive down every road on the planet and take pictures of it
And then they actually went and did it

This paper made me close my laptop and go for a walk.
Stanford proved that the simple act of walking generates 60% more creative ideas than sitting.
They ran four different experiments comparing people who were sitting inside, walking on a treadmill inside, walking outside, and being rolled outside in a wheelchair.
the outcome? walking drastically increases "divergent thinking" (your ability to generate novel, high-quality ideas).
and here is the craziest part..
it has absolutely nothing to do with "getting fresh air" or seeing nature. the researchers proved that the physical, mechanical act of walking, even staring at a blank wall on an indoor treadmill, is what actually hacks your brain and opens up the free flow of ideas.
when they rolled people outside in wheelchairs to test if the environment was the trigger.. the creativity boost didn't happen.
it is the physical movement that unlocks the brain.
and it gets better.. you don't even need to be walking while you work. the study found that participants experienced a massive "residual creative boost" even after they sat back down at their desks.
your brain essentially stays in god mode after the walk is over..
if you are stuck on a problem or an idea right now.. stop staring at your screen.
your lack of ideas isn't a thinking problem. it is a movement problem.
science says walking literally upgrades your hardware..
Os ovos e o frango dependem do milho. O pão e o macarrão dependem do trigo. O arroz, o feijão, a batata, a mandioca, o leite, o queijo, o açúcar, o óleo de soja e o café, tudo vem do campo.

Decisão totalmente descabida do Zanin, ex advogado do lula, e clara interferência no processo eleitoral.
