A pretty cool moment here. My first piece published for @1116sen - an excerpt from my Top 100 list, which I published back in March. Overall, 23 of my 25 were also selected in the club's "Greatest 25" list.

Round 1 v Fremantle and Round 2 v St Kilda, you say? 🏆

Always found the “bottom six” argument an interesting one with the Bulldogs, and I’m curious on people’s thoughts. If this is our Best 23 heading into next year, who do you think makes up the “bottom six” group?

Leaves us with 34PL players (inc. ZB, JB, HOK & FM) and x4 CatA rookies (Lewis, Bramble, May and Sellwood). Bramble must be promoted, taking us to 35 & 3 (38 in total). Assuming Lewis stays, the Bulldogs must add at least x2 players (inc. x1 to PL) to meet list requirements.

God forbid a club that has spent two years working night and day to secure its biggest signing in 101 years enjoy it for a weekend. For a club that is constantly dismissed as small and irrelevant, we’ve sure upset a lot of people this Trade Period. It’s been good fun. 🐶

Based on our current draft hand, we can match any bid made for El Souki from Pick 24 onwards (clubs can go into draft deficit by a maximum of 412 points). The only way we’d be able to match a bid before Pick 24 would be to use future picks to trade back into this year’s draft.

In terms of assets, it is the biggest trade in AFL history, with 20 individual elements changing hands, including 18 draft selections. It still pales in comparison to the 11-club, 36-asset trade carried out in the AFLW in 2023.

Watched back the 2016 GF last night (I’m sure I wasn’t alone). Every time I do, I’m reminded of another individual performance that went under the radar. The Tackle aside, Dale Morris was impassable. Won every single contest. In hindsight, could’ve easily won Norm Smith votes.
