“Don’t politicise his death” is an incredibly convenient position for the UK media - who spent months making Jason Arday a public target.
Relentlessly & disproportionally hound, scrutinise, pile-on & then declare the media off-limits when the consequences become uncomfortable.
If your immediate reaction to a man’s death is to try to use it to make a political point and further your own argument, whatever that argument is, take a breath and don’t. Contrary to popular belief not everything has to be a political football and we don’t have to have a partisan “hot take” on everything, especially not something as tragic as this.

His legacy is Gaza, Morgan McSweeney, industrial-scale dishonesty, proscribing protestors as terrorists, fixing trials and so on, and if it takes a while for that to become clear, this is only because all that was more than acceptable to the political class and the commentariat.

What an incredibly immoral waste of resources.
Peaceful protesters quietly holding signs expressing forbidden opinions of solidarity against genocide, arrested en-masse by this ridiculous force on behalf of a craven, pathetic government.

Lab is now losing far more votes to Greens (7.4pts) than to Reform (3.6pts).
Overall, a majority of 2024 Lab voters are now backing other parties, and a whopping 70% of those are fleeing leftward.
Lab’s collapse is not the result of a right-wing surge, but of left-wing dissent.

Left wing & liked a tweet by a Green politician? Sorry you can't be a Labour candidate for parliament
On the Labour right & campaigned for someone who'd been charged with possessing and distributing indecent images of children? Here's a peerage to represent Labour in parliament
