Great to see Labour Police and Crime Commissioner candidate for Cleveland, @MattForPCC, has pledged to #GetToughOnRetailCrime.📜

Proud to support @the_brc's Get Tough on Retail Crime campaign. One of my 5 pledges is to introduce a Retail Crime Strategy for Cleveland, which will work to protect businesses and shop workers from the rampant retail crime we are seeing across our communities.

I served 30 years in the police - I have seen both Labour and the Tories in action
Under Labour we had more police, more police stations- better resources.
Under the Tories - we have seen staggering cuts, mass police station closures - high crime making communities less safe

Labour believes security is the bedrock of all other opportunities.
That’s why we’ve made it one of our missions for Government to make Britain’s streets safe.
We’ll put 13,000 neighbourhood officers & PCSOs back on the beat in our communities.

Cleveland Police has the highest crime rate in the country. @MattForPCC is absolutely right, we need the resources to tackle crime here in Teesside.
He will be a strong voice to fight for the resources we need

Speaking to residents alongside Mayoral candidate @chrismcewan11 I heard the concerns with crime & anti-social behaviour in Tory-run Teesside.
I raised this with the Prime Minister at #PMQs. He described it as a joke!
Totally out of touch with real people’s lives.
