TRUMP ANNOUNCES $21 BILLION SEMICONDUCTOR INVESTMENT BY GLOBALFOUNDRIES Trump says GlobalFoundries ($GFS ) will build two new semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Malta, New York, funded by $21 billion in Japanese capital. The project is expected to create 27,000 construction and supply-chain jobs and more than 1,000 manufacturing jobs. Trump also announced an additional $955 million federal investment in advanced chip technologies, bringing total government investment to $1.63 billion. The U.S. government will receive equity in GlobalFoundries, with Trump valuing its stake at over $2 billion.
