Carbon, Energy, Urbanism, Bicycles - the rest is noise to me

I don’t vote early. Have an irrational fear that it will emerge that the person I voted for is a serial killer cannibal or something and I can’t take it back. It’s election day for me.

Hey Clanker - make me a tool to review these 3 pdfs side by side, do markup and output a register of comments attached to those markups in excel. RIP Bluebeam

I wonder what the intent was for that plot of forest if Google didn’t buy it from the Finnish state owned forestry agency?
Google did this to build a data center in Finland. It was illegal, but they did it anyway. Big Tech is out of control.

Absolute feast today folks. Just beautiful. Delicious.
Never deleting this app. One of the most reliable purveyors of bad takes has blocked me. It’s fantastic. 99% of the time they don’t exist. Every now and then I can go binge on their stupidity as a lil treat.

Based on Trevor’s history I fully expect the flight demo to be a dead stick descent from altitude.
Trevor Milton pricing the Syberjet SJ36 at $14M doing NY to LA nonstop with a projected operating cost of $30,000. A light jet, but at midsize performance.

The ‘wait for a dem trifecta’ permitting reform people make me laugh (even if you allow the premise) What makes you think that bill would be better? At the core goal (of making it easier to build things) it may be a lot worse.

Deleting a bunch of veto points that are maliciously exploited is good for everyone except the grifters doing the exploiting. You know who I’m talking about.

Can't share the output but I gotta tell you. The clanker hit a home run on this one. Modern miracles.

lol. Filling out a ‘notification of exempt building work’ and submitting to council. Dangerously close to “filing an application for exemption from applying”

lol. They want me to pay a fee for processing.

Very convincing argument Ms. Meyers. I agree this is incredibly wasteful.
Today I learned that 80% of working archaeologists in the US are employed by private firms that conduct NHPA reviews

Why is there a strong correlation between being in a ‘motorcycle club’ and having absolutely dogshit bike handling skills. I guess nobody tells them how bad at riding motorcycles they are 😂

Wobble wobble. Right foot. Left foot. Wobble. Pop the throttle, right foot right foot. Pop throttle, dump clutch, veer left, veer right, finally get feet on pegs. Fumble for gear change. Lift throttle for no reason, go again. Sell your bike. This is just embarrassing.

No great mystery why enviro groups can’t say anything coherent on permitting reform. The notion that endless litigation before building almost anything almost anywhere might be bad for the environment is an “are we the baddies” moment for them. Cognitive dissonance follows.

lol. That chart is the ‘two systems’ meme. Every GW of solar and wind backed with a GW of firm capacity. Bill McKibben confirming his enemies priors 😉
From @billmckibben, this is the key reason that the permitting reform bill is likely a net negative for climate.

Hey Clanker. Review this drawing set and build an electrical material take-off for its install. Output in excel. Include a sheet for doing human QC on your work, in a targeted but statistical way (not 100% review). 🤯

Saw a Dongfeng Box drive past earlier. Looked up what they cost. Lol, Dongfeng Box rrp 30k NZD < 50% vs Nissan Leaf. Wouldn’t want to be the local Nissan dealership.

I’ve been drug tested so many times it has become ‘normal’ to me. Completely desensitised. But the state or an employer taking your urine to a lab and doing some analytical chemistry to decide if you’re a criminal or should be fired is super creepy. I try not to forget that.
