Andy Burnham will announce new sanctions on Israel tomorrow, @Telegraph understands.
Ed Miliband will announce them to MPs after Cabinet tomorrow morning.
They appear to have been fast tracked after Miliband told MPs on Sept 1 they would come within “weeks”.
That appears to be due to Jewish holidays starting on Friday and a desire to announce before Labour conference at the end of the month.
The sanctions will be popular with some wavering Labour voters but could make relations with the White House even more difficult.
A No10 readout of Burnham’s call with Trump today made no reference to sanctions, but it is unlikely they were not discussed.
Labour MPs and Jewish groups also warn they will have the unintended consequence of an unofficial boycott on Israel if they target settlement goods.
