Okay, this is freaking terrifying to me.
When I received a message from a former Trump administration official in August, asking me to meet with his team at a prestigious think-tank, I never could have imagined I was conversing with an Iranian intelligence agent.
It was the start of a two-month sting - described by ASIO chief Mike Burgess as "sophisticated and targeted" - that ended with the notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps gaining access to my personal emails and details in a major security breach.
The message from a former senior Trump administration contact I forged through my Wuhan reporting, who has a prominent profile with hundreds of thousands of followers, came on August 18 this year.
I had worked with him on my investigation into the origins of Covid-19. I trusted him and had met him in person during one of his visits to Australia.
Unbeknownst to either of us, his genuine X account had been infiltrated by an Iranian operative, using the ‘delegate feature’ on X, which gives a third party access to manage and operate your account.

1. You end every tweet with -F and people get tired of the signature.
2. Your bark is worse than your bite but still too loud in the feed.
3. Followers prefer real dogs over stuffed ones.
4. You steal the spotlight from Mav too often.
5. Your puns are so doggone good they unfollow out of envy.

yep! My Dad wouldn’t sleep a wink tonight
Story time about this pic: I remember when my dad bought the tickets for my son and him to go to this playoff game and they really were not in the budget.
He and I were talking about whether he should pull the trigger and do it and he said “I’ll probably never live to see the Rays make it to the playoffs again so I’m just gonna do it.”
He did get to see the Rays make the playoffs again during Covid, but obviously they couldn’t go in person and after that he passed away, so I’m really glad he spent that money.

Great news y'all! They've identified the infection & given @Ithildyn's brother an antibiotic. He was able to get up and walk around some!
He still has a long recovery ahead, but these are literal steps in the right direction.

One of the coolest parts (if not the coolest) of @petedyegc1 is the fact that they embrace the mining history. This is the drive from 6 green to 7 tee box

Maybe this is a common interpretation and I'm just very late to the party, but when Jesus says "My burden is light," should I take that literally?
Like, does it mean that we - as Christians - must be a light unto this world, even when (especially when) it is difficult to do so and THAT'S the burden?
When we're going through a challenging season in our lives and let it dominate our thoughts and actions, we're both snuffing that light AND demonstrating a lack of faith at the same time.
Letting go and trusting that He is in control and he is preparing us for something more and something better can absolutely feel like a yolk - especially if you're used to being the person who has all the answers.
Maybe I'm just imprinting my current challenges and state of mind onto a verse in a way that He didn't intend, but the penny dropped when I saw this clip.
I struggle with letting go. I struggle with keeping my spirits up and being positive when I'm feeling stress or anxiety. Being "light" most certainly feels like a burden sometimes, but that's what He's calling us to do.
I've heard this verse a million times and never viewed it through this lens before.
Pope Gregory I said: "Scripture is a kind of river which is both shallow and deep, wherein both the lamb may find a footing and the elephant float at large."
I don't know if I'm wading or floating right now, but I feel like this is precisely what I needed right now.
Amazing.
