Controlling a 3D Printer from an Apple II. A new video all about how I connected my #3Dprinter to my #appleii and wrote a little program to control it. For fun, but also so I could forge some plotter art. #plottertwitter youtu.be/oPYJGzOXLO4

I just completed an important space history video restoration project, there's an often shared video showing a Mac Portable ejecting a floppy disk in zero G, but it's painfully low quality, so I found a better source and cleaned it up.

In today's loot from the USA the #8BitBunkerScanning Project has a copy of the 1978 "#Apple II Reference Manual". Enjoy this hodge-podge of reference material in glorious 600dpi. Click to: archive.org/details/aiirm

Today we have preserved a cancelled Quake port for the GBA! It was originally being developed by @RandalLinden. If that name rings a bell, Linden is a veteran game developer best known for the creation of the BLEEM emulator as well as the groundbreaking SNES port of Doom!

Hey friends - we've open sourced the code to 1995's Microsoft 3D Movie Maker github.com/microsoft/Microso… Thanks to @jeffwilcox and the Microsoft OSS office as well our friends in legal and those who continue to put up with me being a nudzh. Thanks to @foone for the idea! Enjoy.

Interesting to see the Apple IIgs discussed as the system of choice for early SNES development. “The developers hated it” According to @ModernVintageG hehe. I’m just delighted to hear about any practical application for the IIgs. youtu.be/wAfPGAOGbpo #AppleII #apple2
I love this too!
There is this very slight recurring theme in manual covers where the photographer is inspired to imply that this software program is just like a toolbox or workbench that you can be a master creator with. I love this and don't care how inaccurate the metaphor is.

My video on the design history of the Apple IIc is coming together. I'm surprised by how much I've been able to find in books. I'm pulling together different sources, from sketches, to models, prototype auctions, to release and revisions. It's even more interesting than I thought
Ok, I've gone deep down the rabbit hole researching the history and evolution of the Apple IIc design. Much deeper than my thread from yesterday. I might make a video about it...

Trying to distract myself by looking at this Apple IIc prototype on RR Auctions... 🧐Interesting details: keyboard text is set top left instead of bottom left, shorter vents, different plastic, printed Apple logo etc. Cool! I want it! rrauction.com/auctions/lot-d…

I suppose I might as well add a picture of the release iic, to round out this design journey... Here's a couple of mine... One earlier revision (with the UK/EU Keyboard layout), and one later revision (with the US Keyboard)...

The Apple IIc is possibly the best looking computer ever sold... It's definitely my favourite computer design.
