Slept better last night. Worked hard all morning. Exhausted and sleepy again. I don’t know what happened to my stamina but I miss it almost as much as I miss my sense of humor. The struggle continues but maybe I just expect too much too soon.

I just accidentally submitted a report about a post. My clumsy sleepy thumb bumped into something and then another something and somehow I reported a post. Can’t figure out how to undo it so I’m apologizing to whoever made the post.

My feed is almost completely simple math problems that only “geniuses” can solve or pictures from 1970 that have an IPhone in them. Guess I clicked on one and now I’m stuck with it. Elon please save me!

Did quite a bit of physically hard work today for an old man in my condition and I am totally done in and aching everywhere. Good night all.

I’ve never required a lot of sleep. 6 hours was enough for me but since breaking ribs at the end of Aug. all I want to do is sleep. If I get comfortable in my recliner trying to watch tv it’s lights out for me. Have nearly drifted off while driving twice since then and that’s bad

Wet and cool here. Talked my wife into cutting my hair. I know I started getting a little gray around the temples several years ago and kinda had a salt and pepper look going for a while but today the hair from my temples shocked me how white it was. Sure more salt than pepper.

Haven’t posted for a while. It’s been a busy few days and a long story. So I think I’ll just leave it at that. But know this, I’m still alive and kicking in case anyone was worrying about me.

It’s nearly time for me to face an awful decision. My old paint horse “Pepper” is going downhill fast. He’s 29 and I bought him as a yrlng. This old guy has been through some pretty scary situations and a lot of hard days with me. He has carried my wife, my kids, and most of …..

my grandkids. He has literally drug over a thousand head of calves to the fire and loaded quite a few big cattle in the trailer. He was never the quickest or fastest but he had a heart the size of a watermelon and didn’t know how to quit a job. Hats off to a true partner!

Good news I was able to get horseback yesterday for the first time since my accident a little over 6 weeks ago. Might have done it earlier but had nothing scheduled that required it. Bad news barely able to throw my saddle on and mounting was painful I was worn out after day.

I thought I just got up on the wrong side of my recliner but I’ve had an uneasy feeling all day. Then came the call. Apparently my nephew who’s 7 years younger than me has had a stroke and is being airlifted from a small hospital to a major one in Albuquerque.

Putting out mineral this am and the song “Should have been a cowboy” came on. Don’t know many cowboys that sit around singing those campfire songs. I am pretty sure my body would have a lot less aches if I had chosen another occupation. Maybe I should have been a “plowboy”. Nah!

Haven’t posted much lately. Truth is I am tired and cranky and not much fun to be around. Every time I think my ribs are starting to heal something sets me back. Just putting on my coat and one seems to pop out of place under my shoulder blade. It will nearly make me p my pants.

I can’t quite understand why we all tend to think that someone who is successful got that way at our expense. As a society we are very jealous of others’ success. Most people who are successful got there by hard work and good decisions. Our economy is not a zero sum system.

I don’t consider myself a tuck your pants in your boots type of guy but it’s plenty muddy enough today to justify it.

It’s raining. That’s a good thing. There are lots of things I need to do but most are out of the question to do right now and I’m not going to attempt the other things so you are stuck with me for awhile. I don’t have anything clever to say but you can go ahead and give me a like

The random thoughts that go through my mind bounce around like the ping pong balls in the lottery machine until I have a giant headache. Then one eventually hits my snooze button and I nod off for 5 minutes at a time. Anyone else experience this phenomenon or am I just losing it?

Update, 3 1/2 weeks ago I broke 6 ribs and bruised my lung. The timing was bad because fall works were upon us. Still hurts to cough, laugh or sneeze. Still have a hematoma under a shoulder blade. But thanks to the Lord and good neighbors I made it through shipping. I have……..

done quite a few things that I probably shouldn’t have and that Drs. would not recommend. Have probably done some physical work that most of today’s kids will never do. But I’m healing and getting stronger daily. My stamina is not back to snuff but heck I’m an old broken man .
