Interesting read. After dark I feel safest on my bike vs walking, public transport or taxis. It gives me speed & control.
What stops me using my bike after dark is lack of decent infrastructure meaning road safety fears outweigh personal safety fears.

A RARE SIGHT! My bike locked to an actual bike stand! Outside shops in Didsbury. So I guess it can be done, just not in Sale.
