Actually, both have a place. The first AI can advance humankind, but the agenda seems to be human replacement. The second option is super important in the wake of superintelligence.

A small business owner came to me this morning unable to explain why he couldn't make the calls he knew he needed to make.
Fear of rejection, he thought. But he doesn't really care what people think. So it wasn't that.
We kept going.
Eventually we found it.
He had confused respect for these leaders with deference. And deference was making him reach for WhatsApp instead of the phone. Because a call felt like an imposition. A message gave them the choice.
Then he said something I did not expect.
This person needs what I carry. The network they influence needs it. This call is for all of them, not for me.
He left with two names and a commitment to call before the day is out.
That's not a script. That's a man who found his reason.

I've been thinking hard about these 100 questions. Which ones am I struggling with? Looking at the list on the right, am I becoming that person—that leader?
You didn't wake up this morning wanting to be a more mature, wise human being.
You woke up grappling with one of these questions in the attached document, like:

Am I a leader or a bottleneck?
Why do I only think of the right answer afterwards?

His daughter was going through something hard. He knew it. She knew he knew it.
And every time she came to him, he solved it. Reframed it. Found the silver lining. Moved her toward the answer.
She stopped coming to him.
Not because she didn't trust him. Because she didn't feel met by him. There is a difference between a father who fixes and a father who stays. She needed the second one. He was giving her the first.
I asked him one question: when last did you sit in her world without trying to improve it?
He went quiet.
Then he said — I don't think I ever have.
That's not a failure of love. It's a failure of presence. And presence is something you can build deliberately, if someone shows you what it actually looks like.
That's what I exist to do.
