A primary school in Castlebar, Co Mayo, has appealed to the Department of Education to purchase a site in the town as a matter of urgency, so that a purpose-built school can be constructed for it rte.ie/news/education/2024/0…
The realities presented at last night's meeting included that of a support teacher using a stairwell to conduct work w/ a pupil, witnessed by a parent who herself is a primary teacher. Another support teacher had to use a kitchen area as this was the only quiet space available.
