It definitely is the GM job to problem solve but I think under the new CBA it becomes insanely hard to pivot especially if you have big money guys at $60M+ .
A certain level of teflon floor raising is needed just because some teams are going to end up handcuffed and maneuvering to get those guys is either impossible or very difficult. So you have to have a ton of ways you can impact the game.
that’s a new perspective I haven’t thought of I have push backs against it cause I think it’s a gms job to have players that are able to have some specialties to where they could fit under those two play types but I’ll ponder on it some more
The main issue is his best role on offense is basically context dependent. He’s not posing a threat with the point guard impression so you have to put him as a roller, and if your team has no guards well then you’re cooked.
You can’t be context dependent as a max mvp superstar, you have to be the context in which your team thrives and he isn’t that on either side anymore.
Fair especially the defense part I think that’s the side of the floor he should be ragged on completely but I want to focus on the O here cause it’s not really you I guess but just on here that’s what the convo has turned into outside of the Brain dead 3 here and there
Less about trying and more about his lack of skill and IQ. His game is not built around maximizing his surroundings. Hes not dissecting defenses and his own defense isn’t cerebral enough to make guys lives easier on that end either.
Question isn’t is he a great player, of course he is and effort never been answer but he requires too much as a #1 guy. Especially in a hard cap league, your #1 guy has to be pretty teflon or you need insane depth to compensate.
I think his process has been as good as it can be tbh he’s screening rolling crashing the o glass harder then he ever has playing the dunker making the extra pass the players surrounding him are just lacking talent he’s really scaled his bad tendencies as much as possible

“Fit” is only needed or could be an issue when you are lacking talent. Look at Philly everyone and they mama told you they don’t “fit” and they still good cause they are ultra talented the heat are in lack of talent their players suck it doesn’t matter how much they “fit”
Bam and Giannis “fit” isn’t why the heat are bad they are bad because they are the only nba players on the roster
