This unedited audio from a voice agent prototype for a heart failure patient encounter demonstrates the potential of AI in healthcare.
But will this increase the feeling that the health system is becoming more impersonal? The empathy of this agent is feigned, albeit convincingly.
Notice the clinical summary at the end of the call, which could be easily added to the patient’s clinical record and posted on their portal for reference.
The potential for this technology in Medly Uganda is even more compelling. With literacy rates as they are and scarce health services, a voice agent is the most accessible form of technology.
We may finally move beyond screens and interact in the most natural form of communication.
