one of the biggest lessons i've learned trading ranges is to stop forcing trades in the middle
i was extremely bullish going into Q4 and expected the range to break higher, but i was wrong
the key is being able to recognize when your original thesis fails and adjust to what price is actually doing
i prefer waiting for price to reach the range highs or lows, where the reaction gives me a much clearer setup
sometimes the best trade is simply waiting for a better entry

monday's high and low are two of the most useful levels in my weekly trading playbook
when i'm expecting a bearish week, i watch for opportunities around resistance above the weekly open, but a break below Monday's low is often the confirmation i'm looking for
once price breaks a key level after consolidating around it, the move can accelerate quickly
that's why i focus on getting positioned around important levels with clear invalidation rather than chasing price after the move
