This is most welcoming move and we fully support this. These markets are notorious for selling animals kept in terrible conditions. This market is directly connected to puppy mills and backyard breeders. Most of the animals bought from here either fall very sick or die. They all come with so many congenital issues due to inbreeding . Many of the animals are also stolen pets. Apart from this , this market is also famous of trafficking illegal wildlife. Especially parakeets ( rose ringed and alexandrine) . With a lot of efforts from the forest department and our team we have somewhat curbed it in the last 5 years. There are also thousands of exotic species sold here such as ball pythons , red eared sliders, macaws etc without any paperwork or registration. The animals kept in cramped cages on their on faeces and urine. It also a place where it can trigger any zoonotic diseases. These markets are also run by mafia groups who have links to other criminal activities.
