🎭 #DemocraticTransformations No.5
Marginalised activists espouse ‘presentist identities’ to fight others' dismissiveness. Such identities do not assume a past or a future, but make us perceivable and free, writes @MeriTaina of @imagidem & @sociologyofdemo

Incel identities have undergone a remarkable transformation from diversity to exclusion. To prevent identities from becoming undemocratic, it requires attention to moderation techniques and social norms, argues @seejenspeak

Iris Marion Young is wrongly identified with the politics of presence. Michaele Ferguson reads her work as part of the politics of becoming by focusing on structure rather than identity.

The Ranciérian concept of disidentification is purely discursive. To overcome this limitation, @profmoyalloyd puts forward a novel account of embodied disidentification, exemplified by the feminist Miss America protest of 1968.

🧵You asked so here’s a list, in no particular order, of Ukrainian brands that I’ve ordered from/shopped at over the last 10+ years. Some things I bought while in Ukraine, so do your own due diligence on shipping, import & remember things might take longer in a time of war 1/n
I decided to order all my Christmas gifts from #Ukraine this year. I did it early to make sure everything arrives. Today a box came from Bucha. Ukrainian resilience 💙💛

Tärkeä aihe: (Ukrainan) sodan kuvat. Kuten keväisessä @IlmioMedia jutussa kirjoitamme @MeriTaina kanssa, erilaiset reaktiomme somen visuaalisiin sotasisältöihin kertovat siitä, kenen elämän tunnistamme omamme kaltaiseksi ja siten surtavaksi:
