‘Michael Carrick will be given time to turn things around’ and ‘the hierarchy do not want to rush next steps’ should be read and digested for what it really is: an indecisive club without any succession planning or contingencies because it doesn’t have clarity of identity in the first place. A club that often takes the cheap instead of the smart or right route because of the crippling Glazer debt, plus decision-makers who are never aligned - except in their own self-preservation. And it ends up costing more.
It explains the chaotic nature of lurching from one coaching philosophy to its extreme, to revisiting candidates that were on the agenda - some as far back as 2019 - that were already ruled out, to having a shortlist of options with nothing in common to take over a mishmash team that has suffered from horrid squad planning; both in incomings and exits.
Blame the players, blame the name in the dugout while the people who brought them to Manchester United, kept them, created the absolute opposite of a culture of excellence are allowed to rinse and repeat.
Been playing non stop Azula but I might have to give Avatar Aang or Norra a go now they’re fixing them. That trailer looked sick
Alan Wake 2 being locked the hellscape of the Epic Games store on PC is a crime against humanity
I mean what is there to talk about? It’s done. The players are openly criticising him in interviews, the only way anyone would pull this back is with new signings which we can’t get until January.
Carrick isn’t good enough that’s true but he’s also been failed on every level by the people above him, we went in to this season not having what we needed, which they openly admitted.
My reading on this is they’re deciding who’s next but who knows.
Just a shit show from top to bottom
#MUFC hierarchy to hold crisis talks on Monday to determine Michael Carrick’s future and next moves.
Carrick under enormous pressure and very real possibility he goes but United want to carefully and calmly weigh up all options before making a final decision.
No formal decision had been taken as of last night.
Eddie Howe & Julian Nagelsmann among those in frame to replace Carrick if he goes.
Bookmakers have suspended betting on Carrick.

Carrick needs to go but make no mistake he’s a symptom not the cause of the problems.
What’s on him is the tactics, the team selection and the seeming lack of fitness in the squad.
The players are also to blame. Most of them aren’t good enough, far too many hangers on who should have been gone a long time ago but more than that, one of the big changes from this season to last is Carrick is trying to get us to play a different system with possession and they jus can’t do it; this isn’t new. Amorim couldn’t get his system working, neither could ten hag. Consistently this team fails to do anything that requires them to play a certain way and can only perform when “vibes” are good. It’s pathetic.
The board are shit, they don’t know what they’re doing at all, we were told best in class but top to bottom at the club it’s mediocre at best in class. The summer we got Mbuemo et al we said it was a great window but really it was just a good window. We needed several of them in a row and what Happened? Nothing in January and then a summer where they saw we had no starting left back and injured striker and said “okay then that’s fine”
Then you have the root cause the owners. Decades of underinvestment and incompetence brought to bear.
Whatever you think about Carrick, and he has faults and he should be sacked the reality is that he’s gone in to this season with a worse squad and double the games. Whoever the next guy is won’t do any better without serious investment, starting in January, none of this “no value in the market” bullshit; and it has to continue in summer, and the window after that and the window after that and on and on.
Wilcox and Berrada also need to be gone and someone hired who actually knows what they’re doing.
If we don’t do this things, which I doubt we will then all sacking Carrick does is maybe give us a new manager bounce for the rest of the season where we run off vibes.
Rotten from top to bottom.
Avatar ranked is both amazing and really hard for ranking up because of the rematch feature I’ll just play the same person for 50 sets if they want.
If Eddie Howe is appointed Man United manager I’m fucking done. It’s just an acceptance of mediocrity. I went on the reddit (my first mistake) and people were actually defending it “he presses well”, genuinely fuck off.
Same people turning their nose up at conte, id rather a guy come in and actually try to win and it all go wrong than just accept midtable mediocrity.
I find myself lowkey really enjoying messing around with Melty Blood type Lumina. Maybe I’ll play the new one seriously
Thoughts on Manchester United:
Carrick should and will get sacked but our issues run much deeper and it all goes back to the owners. Ineos say they want to be a project led team where there is a defined style of play that pretty much any manager can slot in to and make work.
That’s great but to do that you need to build it and building it takes investment in both money and time. I also agree why the fans that say you have to put up the results to earn the time.
But for a manager to do that, they need the tools to do it and the club doesn’t back them to do that, not just with transfers in but with how the entire thing is run top to bottom.
Carrick, Ten Hag, Amorim were all doing an impossible job with 1 arm tied behind their back, is it any wonder all of the ended the way that it did? As much as they say they want a project manager the entire system they have will only ever be successful with a unicorn, a once in a generation genius like Sir Alex who is so good that they can paper over the cracks enough to get us the wins that will allow the time needed to actually build a team.
This person doesn’t exist. Carrick clearly isn’t good enough, neither were the last 3 but my theory I’m putting forward is that under this current model, no one in the world is.
Do you think that Naglesman or is such a genius that he can work around us having 1 starting left back who’s in the twilight of his career? Or Hurzler is such a good manager that he can get around us having one decent number 9 who’s constantly injured? Because I don’t.
We spend on average the same on players per summer as we did 15 years ago, since then arsenal spend 5x as much, Liverpool 3x. Even if you adjust for inflation and say they’re spending roughly the same as before we’re spending less. We can’t sell players, we let players leave on a free, we can’t generate anything from player sales.
The entire model from top to bottom is a mess and it all stems from the debt the glazers put on us, and how because of that we can never commit to actually seeing anything through.
At this point, you might as well get Conte in, a manager that I never wanted because I think we should be a well drilled system based team but what this ownership has demonstrated is that they can’t commit the funds to do that , so we may as well give it to the guy who wins stuff short term and sets fire to the gaff because regardless, we’ll be back here again in 18 months.
You know when you’re practicing a combo or a bit of execution and you do it so much your hands just stop working, you’ve done it 100 times by now but suddenly you can’t get it at all? Yeah it’s time for bed.
The problem with Riot is they struck gold almost straight away with League and Valorant, and the way money people work is that once you’ve made a big chunk of money any future projects have to exceed that or match it. Epic games will never be allowed to make anything other than Fortnite now, and if they did, even if it was a single player RPG the men in suits would be like “why is this not doing Fortnite numbers?”
3 months after launch, Riot announces League of Legends Classic will be killed in January pcgamer.com/games/moba/3-mon…
Focused Azula is really fun to play but for the life of me I can’t think why, other than for fun, you’d pick her over Firelord. Even the Lo-Li players just use her to build meter, die and then sweep with Firelord, and Firelord can build meter as well. I think she needs some changes, to say she has some of the lowest health in the game, plus some of the worst damage and her real damage is locked behind just frames, it really feels like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze when you could play Firelord, get more damage, easier conversions etc
I’m officially back to playing Azula, Ozai just fucked me mentally, I found his routing so inconsistent for me personally to do, I couldn’t figure it out and I was giving myself an aneurism
Ozai is driving me up the wall man. I might have to switch characters it’s genuinely affecting my mental health.
