Good works are to the Christian what breathing is to the body.
We do not breathe to become alive; we breathe because we are alive.
Likewise, we do not perform good works to earn salvation; we perform them because we have been made alive in Christ.
If your faith in Christ doesn’t cause you to begin to will to be obedient to Christ, and instead you attempt to justify being disobedient…it’s time to see where your faith truly lies.
You don’t lose your salvation through “bad behavior”, if you forsake Christ then you aren’t finally saved.
That’s why the Bible constantly warns us to persevere in Christ and the faith.
Lots of talk on here about rejecting PSA outright, and I want to caution against that. The New Testament presents the cross through several images that need not compete.

Paul also speaks of reconciliation in 2nd Corinthians. The cross overcomes our estrangement from God, restoring communion with Him.
And there is participation.
United to Christ in His death and resurrection, we are freed from sin’s dominion and called into new life.
Holy heresy Batman.
“The Bible isn’t about Jesus silly, obviously it’s about God!”
