If these generated reliable, cheap electricity, I wouldn’t have an argument to stand on. If your electric bill was half of what it was a year ago, I wouldn’t be posting on here. But these don’t generate reliable energy. They don’t generate energy when we need them most (during blizzards). And your electric bill is 3x what it was this time a year ago. Solar complexes need a disgusting amount of subsidies and credits to stand on since they generate intermittent, pathetic amounts of energy in our climate. Commercial solar converts at 12-15% of its annual potential in Upstate NY. That’s why it has to be insulated from an open market. And they insulate it with YOUR money (delivery charge, SBC charge, and taxes). The result? Our environment is being irreversibly mutilated. I took these photos of the latest complex going in to Fort Edward, New York, where the town government there has opened up the land and history to unchecked foreign corporate destruction. Our farmland, grasslands, DEC-designated habitats, water, and state-endangered and threatened species are for sale. New York State, corrupt town boards, and politicians paid by multinational solar and wind conglomerates are selling out our future.

We’re living in dark times in this country. Here in New York, our utility companies force me to pay a $15/month opt out fee because I said no to a smart meter. My utility company is owned by England. Our grid is a Trojan horse for foreign invasion on our own land. I am with you @Gfennchurch.
Watch as Mr Fenn Church refuses to let Alabama Power cross his line. They have an alternate route with a willing landowner, but refuse to call him. This will most likely wind up with Mr Fenn being arrested on his own land.

Here is New York State’s official agreement that the Flat Creek Solar permit cannot be transferred and is officially relinquished. And it’s a reminder that we’ve beat some of these complexes even with @GovKathyHochul in office. We will continue to beat these complexes through organizing, raising money, and suing. Hold the line!

We need to set a statute of limitations on sexual assault Nation wide to 2 years. It was either rape or it wasn't and little girls need to learn early that if someone touches them wrong they need to immediately report it to police. not the teacher, not to family to the police.
Why does this woman consistently side with rapists and pedophiles?

He commuted a school shooter that killed 3 students and a teacher in 1992! I booked that POS personally! I am so pissed! 😡 🤬 This was before the Columbine shooting and before cameras/video footage and didn’t get much national attention. It was horrible! He injured many others, paralyzed some and held over 80 students hostage for 8 hours! 🥹🙏🏼 Lindhurst High School Marysville, Ca

I just watched a movie named "Grizzly Rage" and don't care if they had 10 more hot chicks like Kate Todd in that movie it couldn't save the overly predictable lame storyline and terrible cinematography. Seriously did they steal their bear scenes from the hit TV series of the 60s named Gentle Ben?

You've avoided nearly all of my questions, Norah, because you're literally incapable of answering them. Your mind is firmly closed to any evidence or facts that undermine your preferred narrative. You consider it immoral for anyone to even question you, even though you voluntarily and confidently entered this discussion. You're like a flat-earther. Nothing I or anyone else says to you will permeate your stubborn quasi-religious beliefs, because to change your mind would take away a core part of your self image, which is as somebody who is kinder and better and more righteous than the nasty people still advocating for the safety of women and girls. You repeat your thought-terminating clichés and unevidenced assertions, which I assume sound clever inside your echo chamber, but which, outside it, make you appear not only dim, but a total moral vacuum. Increased risk to females? Who cares. Women threatened by violence? Of course those poor trans-identified men lash out when they meet resistance! What is a gender identity? You can't really say, but like the flat-earther, you're sure it exists, because your tribe is held together by belief in it, and pride themselves on their blind faith in it. I keep waiting for a single gender ideologue or trans activist to truly engage with the facts, but all of you sheer away from them like horses from fireworks. It truly is like talking to cult members who're incapable of engaging in rational debate and just keep chanting the mantras, consigning all serious questions to the 'evil' bin. I've been told I'm on the wrong side of history thousands of times. By debating people like you, I've come to realise that your ilk's idea of the 'right side of history' means stripping women and girls' of their rights, excusing male violence against women, siding with those issuing death and rape threats and attempting to suppress critical thought and freedom of speech. Maybe, like the flat-earthers, you genuinely think history will vindicate you. I believe people will look back on this period and analyse your arguments, not because they admire them, but because they're trying to fathom how so many supposedly intelligent people fell, hook, line and sinker for a bunch of vacuous, post-modern, pseudo-intellectual cobblers, while being completely indifferent to the real world harm they were enabling.

🚨 THE COAL COUNTRY BETRAYAL. How Kentucky Power, SOAR, and connected politicians are using your sky-high bills and tax dollars to fund out-of-state transplants while your neighbors do fundraisers so grandma doesn’t lose power for her oxygen. Eastern Kentucky, open your electric bill, then look at what SOAR is proudly posting. Five Eastern Kentucky counties partnered with MakeMyMove to recruit remote workers. SOAR’s own pages show the new residents come from Maryland, Florida, Arizona, and South Carolina with an average household income of $125,200. The local average is about $32,000. Over 1,100 people have moved in through the program. SOAR Executive Director Colby Hall publicly thanked Kentucky Power for funding the pilot. That is ratepayer money—your money used as a match to unlock more public funds. The same sites promote Catalyze EKY for tech founders and entrepreneurs, again powered by SOAR, MakeMyMove, and Kentucky Power, with cash incentives starting at $5,000 and packages valued over $15,000. Leadership and funding are listed as coming from the Kentucky General Assembly and the Kentucky Power partnership. While that happens, state data shows Pike County, Letcher County, and other Eastern Kentucky counties continue losing population from aging and outmigration. Central and metro areas grow. The official response has been to import people making roughly four times the local median, give them housing guides so they can buy homes, and celebrate when those purchases raise property taxes by taking homes that previously qualified for the homestead exemption. Here is how it hits the community: • Local teachers, deputies, nurses, and service workers get zero cash to stay. Transplants get thousands plus relocation support. • New higher-income buyers compete for the limited housing that already exists. Locals get outbid or priced out of their own towns. • Kentucky Power lost coal customers. Instead of focusing on rate relief for the people still on the system, ratepayer-backed cash goes toward recruiting wealthier new ratepayers who will spend more on utilities. • Data centers and high-load tech get the red-carpet treatment and tax breaks. Everyday families get the rate hikes and grid upgrade costs. • People tied to SOAR, its boards, partners, and related real-estate or “economic development” projects benefit from the activity, the grants, the matches, and the new buyers. Your taxes and utility surcharges supply the local match that keeps the grants flowing. • Meanwhile, neighbors are running fundraisers because grandma is on oxygen and about to have her power shut off. She is not getting a $5,000–$10,000 check. She is getting a disconnection notice. This is not building community. It is a publicly funded pipeline that treats existing residents as an afterthought. Local fiscal courts and officials who maintain ties to SOAR or AEP keep approving the local tax matches and partnerships that make it possible. They choose the transplant incentive and the pet projects over raising wages for county workers, fixing rural water lines, or keeping the lights on for the people who already live here. Stop funding your own displacement. Ask your fiscal court for the exact dollar amounts of local tax money paid into MakeMyMove or Catalyze EKY. SOAR: Shitting On Appalachian Roots. #NewKentuckyHome #TeamKentucky
A new report predicts a significant decline in Pike County’s population, from 54,721 in 2025 to a mere 35,545 by 2050. Similar declines are anticipated in Johnson County (from 22,051 to 18,150), Martin County (from 10,697 to 7,097), and Magoffin County (from 11,110 to 7,565). Eastern Kentucky is experiencing a concerning rate of population loss. Several factors contribute to this decline, including preventable deaths due to poor nutrition and inadequate healthcare, the ongoing drug crisis, the passing of the Boomer generation, young families struggling to afford children, and the exodus of residents due to data center expansions, rising power costs, landfills, and short-sighted leadership that prioritizes special interests over the well-being of our communities.

Tish James was absolutely annihilated and embarrassed by @sarithaforny during their AG debate. It’s time for a new perspective in the AG office. Unfortunately, the group of people currently occupying these seats don’t want to give them up.
My office is monitoring this issue with scanners in Westchester and is in touch with the state and local Boards of Elections as they work on a solution. Westchester voters can still safely fill out and turn in their ballots at their polling locations. Your votes will count.

We may not be able to vote for the bureaucrats directly who are impacting our lives through ORES… But we can vote for the NY governor today. And we can vote for our town supervisors. Many of you statewide tell me that the rot goes down to the local level. Everything starts locally in our country. It was designed to function in that way. ORES was created because of a one party rule chokehold on our state legislature that hasn’t been challenged in years. Our government functions best with balance, always. It needs balance from the left AND right. We want our home rule back. @GovKathyHochul refuses to give it.

I am a woman. I have a daughter. I’m disgusted by the surge in violence against women in the last five years that our Attorney General and Governor have overseen. A woman was stabbed in the neck jogging along a busy area of Brooklyn this week. A woman was raped at knifepoint in Central Park last week. A woman was stabbed to death in Times Square walking to work on her first day back from maternity leave last summer. Assaults are up. Domestic violence is up. Strangulation is up. Orders of protection are up. And they’ve increased each year for the last five years. This is happening because the leaders we currently have in Albany are not taking the steps necessary to put repeat offenders behind bars and get the severely mentally ill into treatment. I think we should elect people based on their ideas and whether they’re doing a good job. Please keep violence against women in mind this Election Day and vote for a safer New York.

FIRED UP and ready to send @ShannonTaylorVA to Congress! 🔥 Shannon will take on the corruption and reckless decisions in Washington that are skyrocketing costs, threatening healthcare, and hurting families in Virginia’s 1st District. Election Day is Tuesday. Get out and VOTE.
