What are some good inoffensive synonyms for #thirdparty and #native in the software development context?

Reminds me of organizing a school funfair, and I had to explain that « tix » instead of « tickets » is cute but isn’t ideal for a school with a large proportion of newcomer parents. That’s even before accessibility issues

Oh. My. Lord! Look at this thing! Only a decade in the making! I’m suddenly full of hope that the Crosstown will also materialize. One day. Within my lifetime.

I think it’s basically any Canadian born before streaming when random NFB and Hinterland and Heritage Minute shorts were on TV on continuous rotation
Wanna know if someone is a Canadian in their 40s? The test is to sing, “And he goes burling down, and down white waters, that’s where the log driver learns to step lightly,” and see if they’re still singing it tomorrow.

It's that time of year when people in positions of authority say that road safety is a responsibility shared between adults driving 3000-pound cars and kids walking to school

Is there a way to search for "images confluence xml" to find out the xml properties for images in @Confluence and not just see images of random Confluence xml samples? See also "search best practices" and really any under the covers content design stuff

What if one day, just for a change of pace, as a special holiday surprise, I didn’t need to wait 45 minutes for a bus that’s scheduled to come every 10 minutes?

You probably know the start of this Olympic story, but do you know how it finished? This photo is of Eric Moussambani, aka 'Eric the Eel' from Equatorial Guinea, competing in the 100m Freestyle event at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, alone. Why? /1

Put the prices next to the section header or put the ingredients into the table and you, in fact, would be unironically correct Clearly grouped, organized, and complete information is the main point. Everything else is gravy

If you understood what someone meant, correcting their grammar is just a way of peacocking that you know more than them. Language is a tool. Don't be a tool.

Excel and Lotus 1-2-3 didn’t automate accounting. It automated data entry and adding up numbers. All the “knowledge work” of accounting only increased. Word and WordPerfect automated typing, not creative writing, journalism, or secretarial work.
Serious question: when excel first came about or became widespread, was there any fear or public discussion of it automating away work like accounting?
