Colder months mean more layers for our children and #redjacketpeople Keeping our children layered up adequately enables them to experience Vogrie to it's full potential all year round in all weather. Some of our #redjacketpeople are wearing 5 or 6 layers to ensure they are warm!

Fantastic inservice day at @MidEYLCOL exploring how we can use ‘Oor Bit’ to teach and make links to the @SDGoals - there were numerous examples e.g rain water harvesting, growing veg and bug hotels. Empowering the next generation with hands-on learning for a sustainable future.

Inservice day creativity at its finest! @MidEYLCOL practitioners used 'The Green Man' book as inspiration to craft their own Green person from clay and natural materials. Embracing nature in education! The nursery children will love finding them and then creating their own 🌿

Some of our children have been forging in #VogrieELC to make nettle tea. There was great delight that once cooked the nettles no longer sting! #redjacketpeople

Vogrie ELC shone in the sunshine this afternoon for our Norwegian visitors. They were amazed by the beauty of the setting & how kind, patient & focused on learning the practitioners were with our children. Thanks to @KenBMuir for organising and participating. #proudMidlothianELC

The #redjacketpeople would like to request donations of spare trousers and socks. If you have any of our spares or any kit we would like a polite reminder to return them. This ensures we have plenty of extra clothes to keep our children warm and dry throughout the day in Vogrie.

Our children have been exploring ice for the past few days, exploring it's thickness at the pond, the shapes and imprints it can make as well as creating games. These experiences extends learning and understanding of the properties of ice and it's formation #redjacketpeople #stem
