Warner Bros. will release the first of its new batch of “The Lord of the Rings” films in 2026, which will focus on Andy Serkis’s Gollum.
Original “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy filmmaker Peter Jackson and his writing partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens are producing the movie and “will be involved every step of the way,” Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said. bit.ly/4acdcJg

‘Farewell, Master Holbytla!’ [Théoden] said. ‘My body is broken. I go to my fathers. And even in their mighty company I shall not now be ashamed. I felled the black serpent. A grim morn, and a glad day, and a golden sunset!’
Merry could not speak, but wept anew.

The Lord of the Rings reboot is in full swing. Warner Bros. film chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy visited New Zealand earlier this year to reconnect with Peter Jackson and discuss future films. wp.me/pc8uak-1lCD6q
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The headline is misleading and clearly drafted to encourage clicks at the expense of accuracy. The article makes only a very brief reference to the studio wanting to reconnect with Peter Jackson and the possibility of reboots is not even mentioned twitter.com/bliss_hughes/s…
