11 allegations. All 11 substantiated. Accountability in action.
At Canoga Park High School, the Los Angeles Unified School District substantiated all 11 allegations of teacher misconduct involving anti-Israel political activism in classrooms and school activities.
The district ordered corrective action, including teacher training, removal of biased materials, and curriculum changes.
This is what accountability looks like. And it shows what’s possible when documented evidence meets sustained advocacy.
NAVI exposes misconduct, mobilizes partners, and turns findings into meaningful change. Now, this case can serve as a model for schools nationwide.
Classrooms should be places of learning—not platforms for political indoctrination.

Oversight gets results.
Following the Committee’s investigation into antisemitism in K-12 schools, Philadelphia’s school district will overhaul its social studies curriculum.
Students deserve an education—not political indoctrination.

A landmark accountability win for Jewish—and non-Jewish students alike—and a model for schools nationwide.
NAVI brought a comprehensive complaint to Los Angeles schools—with detailed evidence of how teachers pushed their own political agendas in the classroom. The district then investigated and substantiated all 11 allegations of unlawful political advocacy by teachers at Canoga Park High School.
The district found that teachers violated both federal and state civil rights laws when they misused their classrooms and school activities, and directed and managed student clubs to advance a one-sided and biased political agenda about Israel.
The district ordered the school to take corrective action, including mandatory teacher training on keeping politics out of the classroom and preventing antisemitism, removing biased materials, and changing affected curriculum.
NAVI helped make this happen. We exposed the conduct, documented it publicly, and worked with partners to obtain records and file the complaint to prompt the investigation.
We also want to recognize LAUSD for conducting a thorough investigation and taking action. Public schools can—and should—be partners in upholding civil rights and ensuring students can learn free from political coercion.
Now comes the next step: turning these findings into stronger policies that prevent partisan political advocacy from taking over the classroom—and using those policies to drive lasting accountability.
This is NAVI’s model in action: map the problem, mobilize partners, disrupt harmful activity, and transform findings into lasting policy change.

Teaching history or glorifying violence?
Philadelphia schools' world history curriculum directs students to “honor” resistance movements, including the Hamas-led Great March of Return.
Students are also introduced to writings that describe violence as a necessary part of overthrowing colonial rule.
American classrooms should educate students—not encourage them to glorify violence.
Ismael Jimenez, former director of social studies curriculum for the School District of Philadelphia -outraged at the suggestion that perhaps he wasn’t the best person for the job.
Also Ismael Jimenez - doesn’t blink when a former student of his uses antisemitic tropes and slurs
after @EdWorkforceCmte report on K-12 antisemitism, Ismael Jimenez, formerly @PHLschools head of social studies curriculum, liked a comment from his former student about the "tiny hat people" who use "money and connections" to "win."
...Demonstrating why we needed the report
Jesse Hagopian says children must be taught about the “apartheid in Palestine” and that their taxes are going to an “apartheid state.”
Hagopian is a leader in the Zinn Education Project and Rethinking Schools - both organizations have significant ties to the NEA and AFT.

Here are 44 clips of imams from the Islamic Center of Detroit — where Abdul El-Sayed worships — promoting murder.
The federal government has given the mosque over $45 million since 2017

I've been collecting radical sermons from one of @AbdulElSayed's favorite mosques, the Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD). From the hundreds of examples gathered, almost 50 include open praise for jihad and the mujahideen, along with open supplications for the slaughter of Israelis.
"Burn them" .... "kill them one by one" ... "tear them apart."
This is perhaps one of the most dangerous, concentrated collections I've seen in over a decade of counter-extremism work.
The ICD has been in the news recently because U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is reportedly a congregant.

Two years of investigation. A documented record. Action at the federal level.
NAVI’s investigation into Philadelphia’s public schools has gone beyond exposing serious concerns. It brought evidence to lawmakers, prompted federal scrutiny, and helped put antisemitism, educator misconduct, and curriculum concerns on the record.
Because when the institutions entrusted with educating our children fail to protect them, documenting the problem is only the beginning. Accountability must follow.

Let's check in with how the children of Revolutionary Youth spent October 7. What a relief to know they had bananas and Cheetos available while they were screeching about imperialism, zionism and burning the American flag.
