Dan Campbell dedicated the game ball to Detroit Lions play-by-play announcer Dan Miller and his family after Miller’s wife, Cindy, passed away this morning following her battle with cancer.
The Detroit News has this one 100% right. I saw Julie work extremely hard in 2024 getting around the state (because I was too) and she came up about 4,000 votes short out of just under 2,500,000 votes. Closest race in the state - incredible. She's ready. As one of the 8 sitting trustees, I can say that we need change. In my nearly 2 years on the board, I've been true to pushing for transparency and accountability, particularly with the instances of sexual assault, campus safety, affordability, and MSU's finances. It's still needed, and shouldn't be so hard to attain. I could use some help. The two incumbents running have been there for 8 years, and are the last two trustees with ties to the Nassar scandal, and all of the secrecy that followed. They also voted for the recent limits on the free speech of the board, to try and keep any trustee for speaking out on a matter of public policy, if it's not a popular board opinion. That does NOT serve the public good. These are 8 year terms, and 8 years is long enough for any trustee. This last year has shown us that we still need change. Let's get Julie Maday and Roger Victory on the MSU board. The school, and most importantly the students, will be better for it.
Today we kicked off Memorial Day with our hometown parade and ceremony in Plymouth, MI. This is me with my dad, a USMC veteran from Vietnam, he was with VMA-533, an A-6 Intruder squadron, during the Tet offensive in 1968. Fortunately for my sister and I, he made it home. Today we remember all of those who did not.
This, it seems to me, is the quiet part out loud. If the idea is a good one, it will withstand the scrutiny.

Today we honor the memory of students Arielle Anderson, Brian Fraser and Alexandria Verner as well as all affected by the tragedy that occurred on our campus two years ago.
As we join in remembrance, it is important to recognize and accept what you are feeling. Take care.

Mike Balow, a Republican, has won a seat on the Michigan State University Board of Trustees.
This is terrible news. I got to know Nate Morris on the campaign trail in ‘22 when he was running for Plymouth Canton school board. Please pray for his wife and two little ones.
