Thanks to the @HawksHamburg for hosting us at their charming old barn. Also thanks to my son and his rascal friends. Proud of this one!
My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, @E60 wanted to tell the story of one of the heroes who was killed that day. His name is Michael Cammarata--and his number 11 is the only number retired by the Little League World Series. His story, beautifully told by director @G_Pfisterer12, premieres tonight at 9 PM ET on ESPN.

As a New Yorker and a father, I would be lying if I said working on this story didn't hit me emotionally in a very deep way.
As the 25th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, it couldn't be more important to hear the stories of heroes such as Michael Cammarata.
Since 1947, the Little League World Series has had more than 11,000 players take the field. Only one has ever had their number retired.
E60’s ‘Living On: The Michael Cammarata Story’ premieres on Wednesday August 19 at 9 PM/ET on @ESPN, streaming after on the ESPN app

✨Someone has to be the first, but former baseball player @jabbottum31 was much more than that. Born without a right hand, Abbott’s rise to @MLB was a phenomenal achievement. The highlight of his career—and the focus of this documentary—came on September 4, 1993, when Abbott, pitching for the @Yankees, threw a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians—a day that became legendary for all who were in attendance and for those watching or listening from home.
🏆For its deeply detailed, deeply human look at what Jim Abbott means to baseball and beyond, Southpaw—The Life and Legacy of Jim Abbott is a #PeabodyWinner. @JeremySchaap peabodyawards.com/award-prof…

From the announcement:
Southpaw: The Life and Legacy of Jim Abbott (ESPN)
