I never had the pleasure of meeting Charlie, but I know he was never ashamed to share his testimony and was fervent in his calling as a Believer to share his faith. I believe America will be blessed by Charlie Kirk’s legacy - not only during his life but also following his death.

These times are unsettling, murky, angering, and downright sorrowful. However, we know as believers what Charlie Kirk knew, that God is faithful and there is a joy that comes in the morning.

One week ago, while respectfully engaging in political discourse on a college campus, the life of @charliekirk11, 31-year old husband & father, was tragically & unfairly taken. Like many, Charisse and I have pondered how could this happen in America and what to make of it all.

I am filing the “Remembering Charlie Kirk Act” in South Carolina. The legislation will ensure that public colleges and universities have the flexibility and roadmap to terminate personnel who condone, promote, or encourage acts of violence on campuses.

As an encouragement to foster kids, foster families and those involved in the foster system: my 14yo biological mother put me in foster care having no idea how my life would turn out. By God’s grace and His wonderful sense of humor, I now get to work to improve the same system.

Whether you were in the foster care system like my life started, are a foster parent, work with foster families or have an interest in making the foster care system better - we want to hear from you and get your help!

This committee on foster care was convened to study and offer solutions for children in foster care today and in the future AND to identify ways to better help interested families become foster parents. The foster care system is complicated, but it can be better with your help.

3,317 - number of children currently in the South Carolina Foster Care System. Children who must not be forgotten… My 14 year old biological mother put me into the foster care system. Today, I now serve on a special State Senate Subcommittee on Foster Care.

I voted against the legislator pay raise. I voted against the budget that included the pay raise. And I have already formally declined the pay increase. I am in public service to serve you!
