Boy, I wish I would get a text from an unknown number telling me how to vote.
That would be the thing that changes my mind.

Was not expecting this but very cool: The White House is acknowledging Reformation Day.
“The Sacred Scriptures helped form the religious convictions that formed our young Nation’s founding ideals of God-given rights and individual liberty, a spiritual inheritance we honor as we continue to reflect on 250 glorious years of American Independence. The Bible remains a cornerstone of our Nation’s character and upholds our steadfast devotion to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

On "VOTING FOR THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS"
If godly people refuse to vote for the LESSER of 2 evils, godless people will vote to ensure you, your children, and your grandchildren get the GREATER of 2 evils.
NEWSFLASH: You will be voting for a "lesser of two evils" until Jesus returns.
Wise Christians can differentiate between a FALLEN candidate and an EVIL candidate.
FALLEN CANDIDATE: Has personal sin in his / her life.
EVIL CANDIDATE: Leads entire communities, states, and nations to sin.
“…this is the LORD’s declaration turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the LORD your God. For he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love…”
Joel 2:12-13

We know that prayer is hard work. Prayer can be discouraging. Often, we pray expecting immediate answers. It’s sort of like when we were gardening, when our children were young, and I had them come out and put the seeds in the row, and we covered them up with dirt, and we watered it. And my daughter came out the next morning and looked at the garden and said, “Dad, it didn’t work,” because she was expecting immediate fruit. Sometimes we do that with prayer.
So how to pray? Remember who you are. Remember who God is. Remember what you have been given. Quote Scripture as you pray. Rest in God's presence and power. Pray for grace and then get up and continue what God has called for you to do!

The first time Jesus came to earth a few people in Bethlehem knew about it.
When Jesus comes back every tribe, tongue, and nation will know about it.
The first time Jesus came to earth a few wisemen bowed before Him.
When Jesus comes back every knee will bow before Him.

When any person faces adversity, they will choose one of two paths: compromise or character.
Regardless of the cost, always choose character.
Jesus said, “Take up my cross and follow me.”
Pastors:
On the Josh Howerton/Philip Anthony Mitchell podcast they said something that rocked me. They were speaking about finishing well.
They talked about faithful pastors that will never be known.
“They said that planes that land safely never make the news”
Men. Land safely

In a world that constantly says to find your truth
Know that there is no my truth or your truth
There is only one Truth. The truth of the Gospel.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Today is a great day to pray for your pastor's wife. Often, she can be the most overlooked person in the church.
She serves in ministry, bears a lot of the same burdens he does, may have a job, and also tends to manage a lot of the things at home.
She is a gift to the Church.

Wow. I’ve seen this happen so many times. Whatever you do, Pastor, keep your soul alive in God, fed with the Scriptures and focused on the Great Commission. (From Ajith Fernando)

In cooking contests, chefs are given a "star ingredient."
The winner is the one who best highlighted the ingredient, while the loser still use the ingredient, but didn't let it star.
The Bible is the pastor's "star ingredient."
We can't just use it. It must be the highlight.

We’re going FORWARD Together.
From our church, for our city, to the nations, we’re praying for greater capacity, greater reach, deeper connection to our city’s flourishing, and a significant movement in global missions.
“But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.”
Psalm 13:5-6
