Out now. links in comments My latest books on a modern theology of Lust and Porn and how they're not the same thing. And my thoughts on how exactly the online church orthodoxy was fored during COVID, or rather the years leading up to the pandemic.

Would the last century Christian be able to teach a first century Christian anything?

Virtual is half-lifed Spiritual. Bitcoin Monasteries incoming
The realisation is gonna hit eventually that the internet is more fundamental than any institution on the planet as a forming/reforming capacity. Though it’s “virtual” it is the real substrate, it just has to be “Disclosed ” for full effect.

Seconded.
Bring the old bluechecks back. Badges for certified journalists, professors, doctors. Prestige media and R1 universities only. Why? Because it’s how our world works. The first step toward changing reality is living in reality

Modern Protestants (and their pop bible teachers) make it difficult to be a political philosopher, because they can't process any argument besides scriptural exegesis. No one thought like this before the 20th century, largely because they were thoroughly educated.

It’s worthwhile to play through in your mind the kinds of motivated reasoning and self-deception that might have led academics to work on this project. It’ll help you understand better what’s going on at AGI companies.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

We really gotta teach STEM majors the importance of not making things sometimes

I've noticed that much of the TGC and TGC-adjacent commentary is a kind of muse-driven sociology. They can't do philosophy or theology. They cannot evaluate or refute arguments. They read Charles Taylor (or about him) and think they can do theologized (vulgarized) sociology. So we get "predictions" and sociological analysis about groups they half-understand and consider too uncouth to engage with at the level of ideas.
I'll see Aaron's spicy take and raise him a spicy take: Polygamy will go nowhere among normie evangelicals, but it very well might see some growth among Dissident Right-types, who tend to pit 'natural law" against biblical theology and romanticize pre-Christian sex norms

Thinking for a second this will solves those problems is laughable. Why are all their models attractive? We all know why.

Reminder, Bethel Church gave the church a fake Bible. When I exposed it as a terrible work (with tons of evidence) Kris Vallotton went on stage and said people who criticized The Passion Translation were "Stupid." Then they made a video ignoring almost every good criticism against it, lulling their people back to sleep and furthering the deceptions of Brian Simmons. Recently even MORE evidence against The Passion Translation has come out. It's actually shocking how much proof we have that this thing is a fake translation, a deceptive work, and a copy-pasted, reckless, delusion. Yes, in response to this Bethel finally paused sales of the TPT. But it's not when THEY know it's bad that they responded. It's when YOU knew it was bad. Exposure, not truth, is what they respond to. They are not safe. They are NOT safe. Don't let them pretend they are being persecuted. I truly wish I had better news. I don't.

Every season, non-denominational Christianity encounters yet again their greatest obstacle: the Bible

Ask youselves how and A.I. would ask about a moral issue. Try your very best to not quote or paraphrase Gen 3:1 . Fail.

About what? Because the only Paul you have is the scripture he wrote. Is that the part you're disagreeing with? the divinely inspired scripture he wrote?

If they wanted to showcase that use they shouldn't have been chasing someone with it. We already have a familiarity of what happens when a drone catches you. We've already seen those videos. The people developing this kind of tech know their market.
“Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue” Yeah, that is what came to my mind first when I saw this.

AH, so were getting hunter seekers finally. Can you guys build shield generator belts before you do anything else. I feel like they will be important later.

The only vector for A.I. to be used by Christianity or the church is a replacement for every fruit and gift on the Holy Spirit.
