We're proud to support Roland Perry, Aidy Perry's dad, as he takes on a hiking challenge in memory of his son. Aidy was a student at Vandyke, and we wish Roland the very best of luck as he raises funds for three charities that supported Aidy & his family. leightonbuzzardonline.co.uk/…

Every word of this post is beautiful & true. It is all too easy to lower our expectations of what children can do. We must guard against this by being open to challenge about whether we expect enough, not just with respect to curriculum, but also with behaviour & character.

If you don’t have a deep understanding of your subject then no amount of ‘teaching strategies’ or ‘science learning ‘ techniques will help. Indeed, without subject knowledge you could use all the techniques and still be ineffective.

Happy 100th birthday to The Great Gatsby, published on this day exactly a century ago.
A novel that achieves the rare accolade of being both revered by critics *and* loved by readers – and possessor of one of the greatest final lines in all of literature.
We’ve got *five* courses on this one.
