Milagros DeJesus It’s #MissingPosterMonday and we need your help sharing #MilagrosDeJesus flyer to help spread awareness! #NYC #Bronx #MondayMotivation #Missing Bring Milagros "Millie" DeJesus Home During Cold Case Awareness Month, we shine a light on unresolved disappearances and the families who refuse to let their loved ones be forgotten. One such case is that of Milagros "Millie" DeJesus, who went missing from the Bronx, New York, in the spring of 1994. Who Is Milagros DeJesus? Milagros was a beloved mother, daughter, and sister. Born on October 2, 1955, in New York City, she spent many years of her youth in Puerto Rico before returning to live in New York. Described as a warm, petite woman with a big presence in her family’s lives, Milagros was a mother to three children. Physical Characteristics & Identifying Details Date of Birth: October 2, 1955 Height: 5'0" – 5'2" Weight: 115 lbs Hair: Light brown/auburn, curly Eyes: Light brown Complexion: Fair, with freckles on her face and neck Identifying Features: A scar on her cheek from being sliced during a robbery while sleeping on a park bench in Queens; a lower abdomen C-section or hysterectomy scar; she suffered from asthma and carried an inhaler. Dental Work: Partial dentures for her back molars and one or two teeth behind the canines, which were done in Argentina in 1986. Last Known Address: 318 Quincy Ave, Bronx, NY. Milagros was known to frequent the Bronx, Queens, New Jersey, and Youngstown, Ohio, and was often a patient at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx. The Disappearance In the early 1990s, Milagros struggled with substance use and would occasionally leave home for extended periods. However, she always maintained a connection to her children. After spending time away, including a period in Ohio and a traumatic incident in Queens where she was mugged, she reappeared briefly in the Bronx in the spring of 1994. Seeking money, she visited her family, and after she left, she was never seen or heard from again. Roughly a year later, an unfamiliar short Hispanic man came looking for her, claiming he had married Milagros in exchange for immigration papers and that she had taken off with a large sum of money he paid her. She has not been seen since. The Fight for Answers For decades, Milagros's family has fought to keep her memory alive. Her daughter serves as her official family advocate, tirelessly pushing and praying for answers. Despite familial DNA being on file with the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), Milagros has never officially entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). Advocates and family members have been working diligently to rectify this, submit potential rule-outs, and secure an official Missing Persons Report (MPR) to expand the search nationwide. How You Can Help Cold cases are often solved by someone remembering a crucial detail, a vehicle, a location, or an interaction from decades past. Share Her Story: Awareness is the most powerful tool in bringing a missing person home. Please share Milagros’s story, flyers, and details across social media using the hashtags #HelpUsFindMilagros, #MissingMilagros, and #MissingMom1994. Submit Tips: If you have any information regarding Milagros "Millie" DeJesus, her whereabouts in 1994, or the mysterious circumstances surrounding her disappearance, please contact local law enforcement or reference her family’s ongoing advocacy efforts. Every name represents a life, a family, and a story that deserves closure. Let's bring Millie home. #MissingMilagros
