I finally got to drive the new Haval H7 this past weekend. For starters, I’m glad GWM chose this boxy design because the old one wasn’t make sure.
For my drive I stuck to the PHEV Ultra Luxury 4x4 (R794 900) with an electric range of up to 115km and powered by 1.5l turbocharged engine (280kw/670Nm) too. Acceleration is snappy off the line and smooth but steering has that unrefined feel. We took it on a section of gravel, it’s capable but it does feel rather road-biased. The cabin is well insulated and comfortable. Ride feels confidently high. The tech inside is welcomed and infotainment screen is insanely massive.
Compared to the T2, I would go for this. This just feels better put together.
