The thing about true capitalists is that their politics and morals are rooted in functionality utility … and not some dogmatic sense of righteousness…. Strangely freeing to see. Progress over Dogma!

Power == Performance.
100% agree, but power efficiency will be put back into performance 1. You can't architect for power at any individual level. It needs to be orchestrated across the stack with telemetry 2. It begins and ends with voltage transients movellus.com/foundations-of-…

Any problem we have, we can solve it with enough AI infrastructure. I don’t think humanity is about to run out of problems anymore soon….

Ha! 1. I once had a VC stop pause mid meeting and took out his phone and took a picture of my confounder & I “for his records” without our permission! 2. A bottom feeder VC called my board member to complain “Mo got upset with the valuation I offered” … duh, captian obvious!
I was once pitching in a board room at a top 3 VC firm for a $15M Series A. 12 people in the meeting. One of the GPs fully fell asleep. Out cold for 30+ minutes. Nobody acknowledged it. Everyone just kept going. I kept presenting my Series A slides to an unconscious man in a Herman Miller chair and somehow that was considered normal. That's venture capital. You might fly across the country to perform for people who may or may not be conscious. It's a dance. And sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow and sometimes your partner is unconscious. If you're raising right now, just know: every founder has a story like this. The process is weird. The power dynamic is weird. You're not crazy for thinking it's weird. No one talks about it because they want to continue raising. But I'm happy to stick my neck out there. It is weird.

Congratulations to @CoachDustyMay, Elliot Cadeau, and @UMichBBall on winning their first title since 1989! This team dominated the tournament from start to finish. Well deserved. Go Blue!

People who post incessantly about politics don’t represent the population. They represent the least intelligent, least caring subset. Data: The 2 robust predictors of online political activity are low cognitive ability and high psychopathy. Don't mistake outliers for the norm.

Agency > Intelligence I had this intuitively wrong for decades, I think due to a pervasive cultural veneration of intelligence, various entertainment/media, obsession with IQ etc. Agency is significantly more powerful and significantly more scarce. Are you hiring for agency? Are we educating for agency? Are you acting as if you had 10X agency? Grok explanation is ~close: “Agency, as a personality trait, refers to an individual's capacity to take initiative, make decisions, and exert control over their actions and environment. It’s about being proactive rather than reactive—someone with high agency doesn’t just let life happen to them; they shape it. Think of it as a blend of self-efficacy, determination, and a sense of ownership over one’s path. People with strong agency tend to set goals and pursue them with confidence, even in the face of obstacles. They’re the type to say, “I’ll figure it out,” and then actually do it. On the flip side, someone low in agency might feel more like a passenger in their own life, waiting for external forces—like luck, other people, or circumstances—to dictate what happens next. It’s not quite the same as assertiveness or ambition, though it can overlap. Agency is quieter, more internal—it’s the belief that you *can* act, paired with the will to follow through. Psychologists often tie it to concepts like locus of control: high-agency folks lean toward an internal locus, feeling they steer their fate, while low-agency folks might lean external, seeing life as something that happens *to* them.”
Intelligence is on tap now so agency is even more important

There’s more to us than just maple syrup, poutine, hockey and curling :)
🤯… as of mid-2025, the aggregate economic value of US-headquartered companies with Canadian founders is estimated to be $2.18 trillion, with a plausible range between $1.9 trillion and $2.3 trillion
