Join the #ProjectEDWARD virtual road trip this week - expert advice on a range of driving for work challenges. Today it's SAFER DRIVERS - projectedward.org/road-trip/… #operationtramline @warkspolice @WarksPolice_OpX #commercialfleets #roadtransport #haulage
The current mobile phone campaign will run until Sunday 29 March. Legislation changed in 2017 whereby drivers will receive six points on their licence and a £200 fine. This will have a significant impact for new drivers who may lose their licence. #standingupforhangingup #2265

📱+ 🚘 = ❌ "Hands-free is safe as my eyes are on the road". You'd be surprised! If your mind is on your phone you can fail to notice hazards that appear right in front of you. #StandingUpForHangingUp

A driver using their mobile phone looks at an area of the driving scene 4 times smaller than an undistracted driver. What can you afford to miss? #StandingUpForHangingUp

Our mobile #TransportUnit patrol has stopped the drivers of several vehicles this morning for using their mobile phones illegally, parking on crossings & in one case having a child with no suitable restraint perched on the parent's lap. #fatal5 #standingupforhangingup

Even careful drivers can be distracted by a call or text – and a split-second lapse in concentration could result in a crash. At 30 mph a car travels 100 feet in 2.3 seconds. #M25OpOrbital #StandingUpForHangingUp #Think #DistractedDriving

"Why don't you go after the real criminals?" # Did you know 59 people died on the roads of Lancashire in just 1 year? We think that's worth some police time, but we'd much rather it was time we could spend elsewhere #StandingUpForHangingUp

📱➕🚘=❌ You wouldn't drink & drive, so why drive distracted? The effects are very similar. There's no such thing as 'spare' attention when driving. Don't try & achieve anything on your journey other than getting to where you are going safely. #StandingUpForHangingUp

Better to get there late than never ❤️. No call or status is that important. If you are driving, put your phone away and focus on the road! 📵 #StandingUpForHangingUp

📱➕🚘 = ❌ "I only use my phone…to switch songs/as a sat nav/to film my journey/to catch up on social media/catch up on emails/to do my big shop…." If it takes your attention away from the road, you shouldn't be doing it. Whatever it is. #StandingUpForHangingUp
