The Editor of @Modern_Railways, Philip Sherratt, is due to take the last session of The Future of Britain's Railways Conference at #ModernRailwaysExpo for a presentation and Q&A at 14.30. If you're at the show and reading this, having had a preview, it's well worth being there.

For our panel discussion our three speakers are joined by @seatsixtyone and @BusAndTrainUser for what promises to be a lively discussion

Our third speaker is Alistair Lees from Independent Rail Retailers who says railway needs to restore customer trust, win new customers and drive revenue above pre-Covid levels. Calls for a simpler ticket structure and suggests changes to achieve this

Our second speaker is Stuart Jones from FirstGroup who is explaining how @LumoTravel has grown rail's share of the Edinburgh to London market. Rail recovery for Edinburgh to London is 125% of pre-Covid

Our first speaker is Suzanne Donnelly from @gbrtt. She lays down the challenge - passenger numbers and revenue flatlining at 85% of pre-Covid levels. Leisure at 115%, but commuting at 59% and business at just 37% of pre-Covid levels
