💸 Earn and Shop
Earn pays for real actions: surveys, labeling, and verified offers. Arcade tickets are gone. Shop has selling, shipping and refunds, on the phone and the web.
🔒 Your devices, your data
• Databases now have backups, restore points, and a 30-day undo on delete.
• Encrypted Messages now uses a 12-word recovery phrase.
🔒 Your devices, your data
• Find my device: locate or ring your phone even with the app closed, and leave a note on its lock screen.
• Send files to a phone or tablet that’s offline, and they arrive when it reconnects.
🖼️ Photos and video
• Edit photos on phone and web: crop, light and color, markup, and AI Erase and Change. Erase runs on our own nodes, free, in about 3 seconds.
• Video Enhance: a 2× AI upscale of your own videos.
📱 The phone app got nearly everything
Office (Notes, Sheets, Decks, a PDF reader, and the assistant), Social, Gig for customers and providers, Shop, Earn, Flip and your wallet all run on the phone now. The home tiles show what’s live
📺 Live grew up
• Stream from the browser or from OBS through your own node, with chat, moderation and past streams saved to your storage.
*Later we will release a new client that will allow you to attach your own tuners so you can watch your live TV over the network
🎨 Studio: make your own
• Music: a channel rack, step grid, piano roll and synth presets. Export to WAV, share by link, and use your song as a game’s soundtrack.
• Sprites: draw a character, give it walk and attack animations, then play the games as it.
🎮 Gaming
• Gulp, an eat-and-grow fish battle royale with its own ocean soundtrack.
• Blob Keep and Star Drift, the first two templates.
🎮 Gaming
• Brick 76, a breakout battle royale of up to 100 players, with leagues, power-ups, spectating and parties.
• Plop, a bubble-shooter battle royale.
🎮 Gaming
We went from no games to a full library:
• Solitaire with a daily challenge, Reversi, Chess, Rummy and Rummy 500. You can play friends online, and your own node deals the hidden cards.
Dev update 🧵 It’s been a minute, so here’s a big one: Modulr now has games, a music studio, live streaming, radio, and most of the apps running natively on phone. 👇
Most of this is on our dev branch and heading to production over the coming weeks. More soon, and I'll try not to go quiet this long again 😅
And a bit of fun
The start of a character builder: a VRM avatar standing in a toon-shaded field of grass. It's the first piece of our new avatar system.
Orgs and money
An organization can connect its own bank account and be paid into it. Storage now shows its real price and lets you choose which provider holds your uploads. Inference shows what your next request will actually cost.
Flip new app
Take a photo of something and it tells you what it is. Tap the item to see what it's listed for on eBay right now. *Bench, Shop and Flip are also on the apps board now.
Files got smarter
You can search your files from Storage, from the phone, or by asking the AI. Describe drafts a description of a photo, and it shows you the cost first. Generated media remembers the prompt and chat that made it, with one tap back to the chat. Chat attachments now stay on your own storage.
Databases
This is new plumbing: a SQLite database per file, living on a home node you choose. Every change is atomic and there's a live change feed. Keys are encrypted with your vault key. If two of your devices write the same row, you're told what got overwritten instead of losing it quietly. The Databases tab in Storage is in its first cut. Still in development!
Messages
We updated end-to-end encrypted chats, 1:1 and added group, stored on your own devices. New devices need approval, and there's a recovery key. Push notifications work on the phone and in the browser. "Draft with AI" writes a reply using only your own devices. The AI never sends anything for you.
Live, our new streaming app
Plug a TV tuner into your own node and watch broadcast TV from any of your devices. It has a channel scan, a full guide with search, closed captions, and pause and rewind on live TV. It also has a DVR system; recordings survive restarts, you can schedule them, and they save straight into your own storage. Nothing passes through our cloud.
