Theme “Accelerating Economic Transformation and Building Resilience to Climate and Global Shocks.”
The seminar provides a platform for MPs to deliberate on issues raised during public consultations conducted by the Parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance, other parliamentary committees and individual legislators.
It also forms part of Parliament’s budget oversight and consultation processes, allowing legislators and Government ministries to examine sector-specific funding requirements and identify development priorities.

Speaker of Parliament Advocate J.F.N Mudenda has urged lawmakers to ensure the 2027 National Budget turns economic stability into tangible improvements in people’s lives.
Delivering the keynote address at the 2026 Pre-Budget Seminar in Bulawayo, Mudenda said Parliament’s responsibility extends beyond approving allocations to monitoring how public money is spent and whether it delivers the intended services.
“Wherever public money travels, parliamentary scrutiny must follow,” he said, calling on MPs to enforce timely financial reporting and hold accounting officers to account.

I say this often, journalism is not a spectator of development, it is infrastructure for development.That is why journalism is not just the Fourth Estate. In developing economies like ours, it is the First Enabler of the economy.
Together, we celebrate the voices and stories that inform, inspire and shape our nation.From legal and parliamentary, to finance, business, infrastructure development, to mining, renewable energy , information communication technology, energy, health matters , tax education, sport and yes community impact, gender equality. and more.
