Fun time of year! Prospective graduate students are visiting various places and trying to find their best fit. This thread will compile a non-exhaustive list of @MolBiophysUTSW labs eager to host rotation students.
Visiting students - we are here to help, don't be shy!
Dissertation defenses are the best! Today @Dagim_legesse is presenting the work she did @RyanHibbs10 lab. Dagim has been a great presence in our program. Thanks and congratulations!
👇👇👇 In the "Alumni doing well" category, check out this awesome news about @MolBiophysUTSW graduate @DrJuanLMendoza - Freeman Hrabowkski Scholar @HHMINEWS.
YOWSA! Way to go Juan, hopefully we can get you back for a visit before too long.
The 30th Annual Molecular Biophysics Research Symposium is underway! Looking forward to great talks, posters, and interactions. Plus … stickers :-)
Great to see another paper from an @MolBiophysUTSW student. Congrats to all 👏
We tried to figure out how one of the proteases from SARS-CoV-2 recognizes ubiquitination and ISGylation and actually put together a pretty interesting story about that. I hope you'll like it.

Nice commentary about how to choose a good problem (how to think about it, what to optimize at different career stages, importance of self-expression, hard does not mean interesting, etc). Worth a read :-)

Congratulations to recently-defended @MolBiophysUTSW student Yang Liu (mentor: @XiaochunLi2), who represented our program in the annual Nominata Award competition. Yang won a Dean's Discretionary Award in recognition of his achievements. Way to go Yang!

It is amazing and fun to see how @MolBiophysUTSW graduates are finding success in their careers.
Here’s an example: cool new paper from program alumna Pelin Ayaz. Congrats Pelin!

Love to see this - @dvlagasca passing her quals, and @__ariinthelab showing the team spirit that makes @MolBiophysUTSW and @UTSWGradSchool special. Two thumbs up :-)
Congrats to my @MolBiophysUTSW little sib @dvlagasca for passing quals!!! I thought passing my qualifying exam was a great feeling but now I get to see my younger MB friends succeed and it’s somehow just as good if not better 🥲❤️
Cool gear, cool sky spotted not far from @MolBiophysUTSW HQ
We have a dissertation defense in @MolBiophysUTSW today! Yang Liu (mentor: Xiaochun Li) will be telling us about his structural work on Wnt and Hedgehog signaling. Introduction underway!
Awww yeah! Nice work from @MolBiophysUTSW faculty member @erzbergerlab, led by recently graduated @MolBiophysUTSW student @SekulskiKamil.
Researchers from @erzbergerlab, @biophysics_utsw, @MolBiophysUTSW, including @victor_ecr
and @sekulskikamil, report insights into the roles of rRNA methylation and GTPase Nog2 in 60S biogenesis. #ribosome, #RNA, #CryoEM

Today @science_valerie (Mentors: @MDiamond_Lab @JoachimiakL) is defending her thesis in @MolBiophysUTSW. These are great events, the culmination of lots of hard work.
Lukasz Joachimiak's lab @JoachimiakL says come join us to learn how proteins misfold to cause neurodegenerative diseases.

Hoping to host rotation students, including over the summer
Luke Rice's lab says come join our team! We use a multidisciplinary approach to discover fundamental mechanisms of Microtubule dynamics and regulation. Numerous opportunities to contribute 😃
