Me in my trip to China and I stumble upon nightmare fredbear completely immobilized as I pass through:

as a kid I used to have to think of absurd mental workarounds to get over my fears so when I was really scared of nightmare fredbear I told myself he WAS real but trapped in China and the laws of the universe only allowed him to take one step towards me per year

Mascot horror can be a very exciting genre when handled with passion and the desire to be creative. It invites players to come along for a wild ride where character and atmosphere can be explored in a unique and unfolding way, built on a foundation of interactive gameplay. When it is done right, it respects the audience's time and desire to discover. It isn't just promising something "could be" in the shadows, its actually putting something there to find.

HELLCLIMB is currently forced to go on hiatus on account of us being hacked. When we get the account back we'll work on the update but for now we won't be able to work on the game in-studio We appreciate your patience and implore you to interact with this post and other posts.

Marketing a game as "this genre, but actually good" is a veeeery dangerous gamble. If your game is even slightly mid, the internet will tear it apart twice as hard just for talking big. So... maybe don't do that.

i haven’t seen giggleland myself so i can’t speak on how good or bad it is, however it does give me an opportunity to say that i think their advertising approach of “finally, a mature mascot horror game” is not good, both in this case and in general

i really think these projects need to fully commit to themselves, confidently make your own identity and market yourself on your own merits instead of putting down your contemporaries to make yourself seem bigger, i promise you more people will be-
