Apparently this is 6 months old, but first time I have heard about it.
🚨BREAKING: CBC invited a Canadian winery owner on to discuss Trump’s threatened tariffs, but it didn't go as expected!
Instead of criticizing the U.S. president, Ron Kubek of Lightning Rock Winery in British Columbia pointed out an uncomfortable reality: Trump’s proposed 50% tariff is still lower than the markups many Canadian provinces place on wine from other provinces inside Canada.
Provincial liquor boards routinely apply mandatory markups that can reach 70% or higher on out-of-province Canadian products. In some cases, a bottle of B.C. wine faces steeper barriers selling into Ontario or other provinces than it would face under the U.S. tariff being discussed.
Kubek noted that recent moves by premiers to allow limited direct-to-consumer sales still leave the high provincial markups in place. He argued that if Canadian governments were serious about supporting domestic producers, they would remove these internal barriers.
The moment highlighted a long-standing issue: Canadian wine makers often face higher trade obstacles from their own provinces than from the United States.
Really disappointed in Gordon Food Service. Worse yet, Pilgrim's chicken products (and others). Labeled 'Halal'. This BS is slipping into our food stores - not just GFS.
Major companies 'marketing' this includes Nestlé (as always)...
I don't know. I just don't want this shoved in front of my face.

If your mom dies with a 2.6% mortgage, her bank can tell you to refinance at 7.1% or lose the house
My friend heard that 3 weeks after the funeral. Loan officer said "sorry for her loss" and asked for 2 years of W-2s
She'd spent those 2 years out of work taking care of her sick mom
Her credit score had dropped to 590 by then. 2 other banks denied her, and she got 60 days
So she called me, because I'm known for buying inherited houses.
The house was worth $330,000, with $265,000 left on the loan. I offered $285,000. She'd have walked away with about $20,000 and no house, and I'd have made about $40,000
Then I asked her to read me what the bank said, and I took my offer back
Her mom's payment was $1,201. The new one would've been $1,781. That's $174,000 more over the next 25 years, for the same house
Since 1982, federal law has protected transfers of homes to relatives after the owner's death. The bank can't call the mortgage due just because the house was inherited
And since 2018, federal rules have required mortgage servicers to treat confirmed successors in interest like borrowers for servicing purposes
She didn't need to qualify for a new mortgage just to keep paying the existing one. No new loan, no new interest rate, no 2 years of W-2s
Same rate. Same payment.
We asked for the successor in interest department, not the refinance desk, and sent this certified mail with the death certificate and the deed:
"My mother, [name], died on [date]. I inherited her house at [address] and I live there. I am a successor in interest under 12 CFR 1024.31. Please tell me in writing what else you need to confirm me. I am not applying for a new loan"
5 weeks later her name was on the account at 2.6%
You have to prove you're a qualifying successor, and you have to keep making the mortgage payments while they process it. The bank can ask for proof of inheritance. It can't automatically force you to refinance just because your mom died
Send this to your siblings before one of you has to make that phone call
That loan officer is telling somebody else's kid the same thing today

I want all of my followers to retweet this message every day until election day! Thank you!
I just got a deal on 2 lbs of beef chuck ribs at GFS! They were marked down to $4 and frozen for quick sale.
I used to buy them all the time and would slightly cook them (bones still raw) and cut them up for dog treats! Haven't bought them in forever since normal price had risen to over $6 a pound.
Couple of happy mutts tonight!
Happy Halloween!! 🔥 Super excited, it's 7:40, dark out and not a single little punk begging for a treat from my 5 lb bag of my favorite candy! 😂
Last year the neighbors had all of the kids at their place and they were running around my yard like animals.
I dumped my candy into a bucket and tossed it up in the air and told them to find it, and turned my lights off! 😂 🐊

🇺🇸When the Democrats want to speak on the price of the Iran war. Maybe they should hear this first.🇺🇸

WOW 🚨 The first Muslim Palestinian woman to serve in the Georgia House is already breaking our laws
Democrat Ruwa Romman solicited funds during the legislative session by having people postdate their checks and postdate their donations. This violates Georgia law because it says when you're in a session under OCGA 21-535 that you can't have anyone contribute to your campaign. You can’t even have them pledge, but she did it anyway
Get this, I looked more into it and while doing it she said:
“You can write checks dated for after April 3rd to Ruwa for State Senate — and then we can collect those after session, when session is over, inshallah”
An archived version of her campaign site from when the legislature was still in session also promoted pledges
This same woman previously served as communications director for CAIR-Georgia
She also canvassed for Zohran Mamdani’s New York mayoral campaign and attended events around his primary victory
Foreigners should not be allowed to serve in US Government
This was a few days ago. Stinker always leads Monster around by her martingale collar!
This morning I noticed Monster's collar was missing. Didn't notice it right away because I am having an issue with a scratched cornea thing next to my main ocular nerve. (can't see shit and extremely painful).
I have no idea where Monster's collar is! Her rabies and ID tags are on it! Really pissed because it took several months to to get a replacement 'county' rabies tag a few months ago - because Stinker did the same thing as a puppy.
$50+ bucks down the drain between the collar and the tags. Hopefully in a few days my 'vision' will be restored, and I can find the missing collar.
Ugh.
False. Jim Crow laws were enacted by Southern Democrats (Redeemers) who regained control of Southern state governments after Reconstruction ended in 1877. These Democrats were often conservative on race and states' rights, but the party that passed and enforced the laws was the Democratic Party, not Republicans.
