My Forbes review of Andover Audio's SpeakEasy 4 powered bookshelf speakers shorturl.at/2vmEw If you want to stream BT audio or plug in a turntable (even one without a pre-amp) and love stereo sound with lots of low end thump, have a look at these.

Another weekend of fantastic 80s nostalgia. Western Fair managed to land Squeeze, along with The English Beat, The Box and Spoons. Have never seen Squeeze live before, so this concert was extra special.

I'm not normally a casino guy, but ventured into Caesar's Windsor to catch this guy – Howard Jones – along with ABC and Haircut 100.

It's been over a year since we lost Aspen, but the time seemed right. Willow was lonely without her lifelong playmate, construction was winding down and house seemed a little quiet with just one dog. 5 month-old Toby (Tobias) has been with our family for a month now. Perfect fit.

Caught Echo & the Bunnymen on Thursday night in Toronto, with my boys.

Caught QOTSA last week in London. Never been told as an audience to go f#@k yourself so many times in a show, but that was one tight band, great stage lighting and the banter between songs was as interesting as it gets.

My review of the Klipsch Three plus for Forbes shorturl.at/kpEHO. Mid-century modern inspired design, 120W output, multi-driver array including a 5.25-inch woofer, BT, digital inputs and full turntable support including a pre-amp.

X-Mas vinyl haul.

My review of the U-Turn Orbit Basic turntable for Forbes shorturl.at/JPTW1. Decent specs for an entry-level TT, nice paint job, solid build, easy to set up, but $50 (US) extra for a cue lever?

Big and biggest. My review of the Mammoth Soundboks 4 Bluetooth speaker for Forbes. 2 x 10-inch woofers, 1-inch tweeter, 3 x 72W amplification with up to 40-hour battery life – and it doubles as a guitar amp. tinyurl.com/bdf2zpfh

Caught Duran Duran in Montreal last night. Great show! We saw them last fall in Toronto but it was outdoors in torrential rain. A little more civilized inside the Bell Centre.

Kids are back to school, fall fair started this weekend, hornets are making eating outside miserable, but there’s still a little summer left.

Saturday night, spinning vinyl and drinking wine with my wife. Been too long since we did this, but it’s raining out, so not hanging out in the back yard as usual for the summer.

The Pecron E2000EFP portable power station has 1920Wh of LiFePO4 battery power. It has 16 power out ports including 6 AC outlets and 2000W output that can power fridges, TVs, toasters, and even heaters. My Forbes review: bit.ly/41BxF6Q #ForbesTech

Had to say goodbye to a very good boy. Aspen spent much of his 14.5 years hanging out on the couch in my office, taking breaks to patrol the back yard. His hind legs started giving out – a wheelchair was due to arrive next week – but he passed in his sleep this am. Hug your pets.

Another generation gets the Beat bug. And when did my kids get taller than me?

Doing taxes, spinning vinyl. Or maybe the other way around... Play 4: Going a different direction with Max Webster's "Universal Juveniles."

Doing taxes, spinning vinyl. Or maybe the other way around... Play 3: The English Beat's "I Just Can't Stop It." I've got tickets for these guys in London in a few days with one of my kids – can't wait.

Doing taxes, spinning vinyl. Or maybe the other way around... Play 2: Heaven 17's "The Luxury Gap."

Doing taxes, spinning vinyl. Or maybe the other way around... Kicking the fun off with Madness "One Step Beyond".
