Some comments for clarity:
I am aware that the dev's GitHub account was nuked. This was not my intention, more just bringing attention to how they were behaving and using their own software to mess with not just me, but other friends who have used this plugin. I would have been fine with them messing around a little with the commands if they had asked first or just established that they were the dev before coming into my stream and just plugging commands (Their twitch name and GitHub name are different).
In the stream where the incident occurred, I did try to stop them and talk to them about doing that without consent, but they disappeared before I could do any of that with their only response being "It's in the description of the ReadMe" and "It's there in the open" when I told them that they couldn't just do that.
I did not know that this software was vibecoded prior to the original post. I was recommended this plugin by a dear friend of mine and I trusted them. The friend was not aware that the dev could do this nor that it was vibecoded, so I am in no way mad at them nor is my trust in them harmed.
There is a stream clip in the original post of the incident where the dev just started plugging commands. Thank you @jessthemullet for grabbing it before I could.
This experience taught me a major lesson in trusting 3rd party software and I hope some of you learned from it too.
Hey so if you're going to make a plugin to connect Twitch to VRC, don't be this person.
Crystal Relay allows Twitch chat to control your avatar via channel points, subs, bits, etc. (Including changing to a different avatar on your account)
The plugin, however, has a backdoor for the developer, Screminpal, to have master controls over your avatar whenever they want and, from my personal experience, they will just do it without asking for your consent. You cannot turn off this backdoor btw. The dev can just come in and mess with you whenever they want and you have no control over it.
Their excuse is "It's clearly stated in the GitHub that I can do this"
