I envy the snake handler tier self-belief of the center left intelligentsia. The raw power of watching the most pragmatic people on the face of the planet behave in ways that don't fit your mental model, but still trusting the model. Faith that moves brokeback mountains.

Now, the crucial flaw is that Jaros and @joshrauh simply ignore this. They assume that billionaires will leave permanently, frightened by the prospects of an annual wealth tax. But they just count the revenue from the one-time wealth tax. Not the revenue from the annual tax. The annual tax that triggered the “exodus” Jaros and @joshrauh imagine never materializes. The billionaires upended their lives for nothing.

Zoomers: "literally DEMONIC. Worst generation EVER!!!"
We have had Boomers randomly pick up our check at restaurants at least twice. Like ask the waitress for the bill and she says "the older couple that was sitting over there said to tell you family a blessing" or something like that.

7/ What I would do is: 1. print in cheap resin 2. make a latex mold around the resin, demold the original 3. cast wax into the latex 4. pour plaster around the wax 5. burn out wax 6. melt brass and pour into plaster

8/ when I tried (with pix) it prompted me for many measurements, I gave them all, it generated some sort of file, told me to import it into onshape, and the result was a weird / bad blueprint thing that sat as a static image file (wasn't the right shape) xitter.cf/ngintx/status/21132923…

I was able to build some parts with ChatGPT. It used a CAD library to create the part and exported an STL. It took a couple of iterations but it worked. I was just using pictures and a few measurements.

If you never file a case in small claims court, you're spending too much time on the phone with customer service representatives. This is the less well-known variant on the rule of "if you never miss a plane, you're arriving at the airport too early."

this is actually really good art, in its genre it's funny AF without crossing the line into being too crude, it's got a cat / dog distinction hinting at two tribes, it's got a black cat girl which is just hilarious, it's got Josie and the Pussycats vibes for us olduns, it's self-deprecating better than 80% of political cartoons
“I make art!” The art in question:

Social media has given people a very distorted idea of the minimum standard for "hobby" and "going out with friends".
We CANNOT even afford hobbies. We CANNOT afford to go out with friends. We CANNOT afford to exist anywhere outside our homes. They then call it a mental health crisis. It's not. It's an affordability crisis.

Good for her for keeping some pressure on the trigger and not listening to nagging from Reddit finger guys. The first rule of gun safety is to be yourself and have fun out there.

because you're 21 years old with no assets because you're in town for 6 months for business and don't want to buy because you just moved here and want to scout housing before buying because you can't afford a house because you're 78 and don't want chores becau
I was always amazed at the phenomenon of the “exurban apartment building” If I’m living, like, a 45-minute drive away from the nearest city, why would I live in an apartment? Instead of a house? That sounds like the worst of all worlds. Yet they kept getting built.

Sydney Sweeney reveals in an interview that she doesn’t care about the PHP vulnerability because she moved everything to Rust in 2024. “They said the rewrite would take six months. We’re on month 30. We haven’t shipped a feature since, but I’m having a very normal Wednesday.”

Ahem. Five years ago I wrote a column about DNA test results that showed there was a 99.999998 percent chance that Ilhan Omar and her second husband Ahmed Elmi were siblings. A few hours before we went to press my informant was arrested by Biden's FBI. Funny that.
