Dreams always come at a price - you give something for something. Sometimes it’s a full 8hr sleep. Sometimes staying with your parents. Sometimes postponing having kids. Sometimes is working 2 Jobs. Dreams require a sacrifice out of your comfort zone.

There is no person who is secure in themselves who would want to make another person insecure about their weight , abilities or appearance, insecure people love to bring others down because their insecurity needs you to feel bad about yourself for them to be validated. HEAL. 🌸

This is Rotary at work. Fellowship, service above self, botho.
When a Rotary member traveled to Cincinnati for her grandson’s heart surgery, fellow members she’d never met opened their home to her family, turning a Rotary connection into something deeply personal 💛

To this, i add that Child psychologists and attachment experts like Dr. Gabor Maté emphasize that consistent physical presence is crucial for children under three. Because toddlers attach primarily through their senses and lack an understanding of time, extended separations can trigger deep stress responses. This often leads to behavioral regression, intense clinginess, or emotional detachment upon the parent's return. Developmentally, experts suggest avoiding overnights without a primary caregiver for infants under 12 months. Toddlers between one and two might handle a single night if left in their own home with a highly familiar caregiver, while children aged three and older are generally better equipped for a weekend away. Maté strongly advises that whenever parents must step away, they should give the child a physical memento like a photo or clothing item to hold onto. Most importantly, parents must make intentional, undistracted time to physically reconnect and reattach the moment they return.

In your interactions, in your thoughts, in your written or spoken words, think about this, your own role in it…“We teach girls that they can have ambition, but not too much, to be successful, but not too successful, or they’ll threaten men. If you are the breadwinner in your relationship with a man, you have to pretend that you’re not, especially in public, otherwise you will emasculate him”. - Chimamanda N Adichie

Directing your anger toward the daughter of a paedophile and not the paedophile himself is definitely the sign of a fully hinged person
You know there is a conversation to be had here, a nuanced one. At 36, i got married late, by societal standards, in many spaces, especially here at home, you see the shift in perception, like how? this also creates a rebellion of some sort. What spaces do i enter as Motena and which ones 'Mamojabeng?
It's 2026 but women are still stigmatized for being unmarried. Shamed for being single. It's no surprise that some women are paying their own lobola so they can tick the box. What price will you pay to be chosen? Catch the conversation with @Anele & @CindyPoluta @firstforwomen

As your friend and sister, I am deeply saddened by your comment below. It really pierced my heart that I can love and care for someone who can be this callous about a very painful chapter in our history.
Samora Machel’s contribution is a matter of historical record. Under his leadership, Mozambique sheltered South African exiles and supported the ANC’s liberation struggle, enduring apartheid military raids and destabilisation. Many died from the cross border incursions of the apartheid army into Mozambique. But many were saved by the protection Machel offered. Apartheid South Africa aligned with RENAMO, the armed militias fighting Machel's government.
Machel worked closely with Oliver Tambo and publicly defended the liberation movement. After South African forces attacked ANC safe houses in Matola in January 1981, he continued to affirm solidarity with the oppressed people of South Africa. 17 people were killed.
There is also a global, post and anti colonial element to Machel's place in history. Machel led FRELIMO’s struggle against Portuguese colonial rule and became Mozambique’s first president at independence in 1975. He regarded Mozambique’s freedom as inseparable from the liberation of its neighbours.
The Nkomati Accord was a tragic and painful moment that even Tambo understood. Machel was put in a corner by the well resourced apartheid regime- in exchange for ending support for RENAMO's military operations, apartheid SA demanded Machel restricts ANC presence in Mozambique. Basically, he had to choose between supporting the ANC or continuing the civil war in his country - which killed hundreds of thousands, caused hunger and disease. The Nkomati Accord was blackmail.
Machel and Mozambique paid a heavy price. We honour him. And your post, my friend and brother, is shameful and ignorant.
“…But who I really want to call attention to is someone not shown in this video at all: Dad. It’s his patience and confidence that enabled all the great things we see here…”
