Proud that Fourtowns PS & I work with @_beyondphysical & @CCOrienteering, flying the flag in Northern Ireland. Their curriculum resources & training bring real quality & depth to our PESSPA offering, impacting holistic learning and wellbeing throughout our school. @NI_Teachers
🚨 Big news from afPE! 🚨 Delighted to see the first of our 'afPE approved curriculum resources' gaining their status. The work that has gone into the resources to support the delivery of high quality PE is phenomenal. Head teachers and PE leads can use any of the afPE approved curriculum resources with confidence knowing that they meet high level criteria. They can now decide which is the best fit for them and their learners. 👏 A huge step forward in supporting schools with trusted, high-quality PE resources. #FutureOfPE #ApprovedCurriculumResource #afPE

PE in NI primaries needs reflection and change. The current curriculum encourages a holistic, cross subject approach, yet its narrow sport focus keeps PE sport-driven, not learner-driven - limiting how it meets all learners’ needs. Done differently, PE could offer so much more.
"PE provides a knowledge rich space in schools for young people to learn and grow together". A new guest blog on Pivotal Platform from Dr Julie Stirrup (@LboroSSEHS) & Dr Shirley Gray (@shirley_MHSE). pivotalpolicy.org/our-work/p…

Excellent! 🏈 Giving chn the chance to try a variety of sports and physical activities is so important for helping them find their niche. Would have loved to have seen this in our primaries too! @McQuaidNFL – do you have a contact to see if I could get a few for interested PS?
The NFL has sent a flag football starter kit to EVERY secondary school across the island of Ireland. Fantastic to see 👏
